Summer Vacation

So I'm in my third month of my summer vacation which is in the beginning of August. Its about 2:35 a.m. and my tablet dings. I look over the side of my bed and see that Braden has texted me. I grab my tablet and I'm totally blinded by the light it gives off. It takes a minute for my eyes to adjust. I can finally see decently and click on Braden's notification. Typical. He wants to chat about his new girlfriend. After I read the notification I type back,"Give me 5".

At that point of the night, I didn't see any reason to go back to sleep. I found out before 3 a.m. that Braden doesn't go to sleep until 6 a.m. because he video chats his girlfriend at 5 a.m. everyday and then doesn't even get up until 7 a.m. I knew right then I would be up with him for the rest of the night.

That night I learned that his girlfriend's name is Crystal and she is 15. But then I realized Braden is only 12. I mean three years isn't that big of a difference but she could start driving soon and that was what really concerned me about this relationship. He thought I was jealous because he was in a relationship and I wasn't. But, his thoughts were wrong. I never did envy his choice of human contact with any person he was linked to. I was, however, very happy for Braden. I mean, guaranteed he did have about 12 girlfriends before Crystal came around, but this one girl is when he actually started opening up to me about his social and love life outside of school. I was extremely happy to hear and listen to what he had to say.

That night, Braden wanted to video chat with me at 3 a.m. to show me his girlfriend. I said no because it was late. So he tried to video contact me anyways. My ringtone goes off, his profile picture is on my screen, and the best part: my dad wakes up. Now, my dad didn't come banging into my room. Instead, he headed straight for the kitchen. I was so happy and relieved at the time. I felt like that was my one chance to get away with something like that.
