~Chapter 4~

All I had to say was why? Why couldn’t I be like the other werewolf's that got perfect mates? The ones who they instantly fall in love with.  I know it was bad for me to judge a book by its cover, but when you look at him and had always heard about him, what else comes to mind? The girls gushing and gawking over him all the time and how much money he makes and has. A lot? Who cares?!

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew I should have gone back and apologized to him, and actually try to get to know him, but… I didn’t want to. Besides, it was over and all I wanted to do was take a nice, hot, soothing bubble bath and not even think about how much pain my wolf would be in from our mate withdrawal.

I had dropped Casey off right after, she was kind of mad that I was keeping something from her while I kept her in the dark. I would have told her sooner, but at the time I didn’t feel the need to tell her right away, especially because I didn’t feel exactly comfortable. I mean, I hadn’t even fully accepted that he was my mate at that point. So, I drove off after saying bye to her in a hurry. I really needed that soothing bath.

When I had arrived home, I realized my parents were already back from their meeting that they had with a couple of their old friends. I walked inside the hous--mansion, I mean, and went to greet my parents quickly.

They were in the kitchen, both drinking coffee and eating pound cake. My dad looked up from his newspaper as he heard me enter the room.

“So, where did you go today?” he asked.

“Casey made me go to this stupid Justin Bieber concert and then we got invited to his stupid birthday party, that Casey insisted on us going to as well!” I threw my hands up in frustration.

“Well, it looks like you’ve had an eventful day,” my mom responded, with an amused smile playing along her lips.

“Yeah, you can say that,” I sighed, “Okay, well I’m going upstairs to take a nice calming bath, talk to you guys later.”

“Wait! Christie, guests will be coming over for dinner, so don’t take too long and change into something nice,” she said quickly, with a secretive look in her eyes. I nodded, heading for the stairs.

“Yeah, okay. See ya’!” I called over my shoulder and continued up the stairs. I quickly but relaxingly took my bath and hurried out, to get ready for dinner. I wrapped a towel around me and walked into my giant closet to find an outfit to wear. After ten minutes of debating, I chose a gorgeous white dress, which flowed slightly and reached to my mid-thigh, with crisscrossing straps in the back.

After I pulled on the dress, I went to work on my hair--curling it elegantly-- and my makeup--two swipes of mascara and clear lip gloss--not that I needed much anyways.  I slipped on my white heels and clacked my way down the hallway and head down stairs.

=Justin’s POV=

I had watched as she left, and all I thought was: Who was she and why did she leave if she knew we were mates, too?

I knew she was a werewolf, it was in her scent, but when I tried to come up with answers; I came up blank. My memory of her was tattoed into my head; the way she looked, smelled, talked. She invaded my thoughts continuously.
