Chapter 28

"Lo, come here," she softly said, urging  to come near her. She'd been sitting on her bed for a full five minutes already and Lauren still was in her doorway, looking at her. She knew what Lauren was thinking. She saw her hesitation.

And she knew why.

"Lo, come on. I dont i bite" she joked, trying to ease the tension. Lauren didn't move, but her eyes turned from wary to warm. She saw how those poodles looked at her oh so gently that she fought the urge to grab Lauren until she was right where she wanted Lauren: beside her.

"Lauren are you just gonna stand there all night?"Soon as she said the words, a lightning flashed from outside her window, making her flinch. She rubbed her bare arms with her hands and felt cold all of a sudden.

"Come over here, Please.. It's getting cold already"

She was silently begging Lauren with her eyes when another thunder struck, making her whimper in fear. She closed her eyes and that's when she felt, rather than saw, Lauren making way to her. She held her breath when she felt her sitting beside her, circling her arms around her now shivering body.

"Hey. Don't be scared. You have nothing to worry babe, Do you even know what's happening when thunders are that huge? The gods are playing football..haha," she said, trying to soothe her.

"Psh. That's not true. Papa told me , that means they are having a renovation in heaven and the angels are rearranging the furniture," she said, now smiling against her shoulder.

"Hmm. Or... maybe... the Cullens are just nearby, playing baseball?"

"Haha. Very funny," she commented, sounding sarcastic but feeling so giddy inside.

"Baby. Don't be scared, It's just a force of nature. It can't do you any harm as long as you're safe inside."Lauren assured her

"And as long as you're here," Camila whispered, adding to what Lauren said.

"Yes, as long as I'm here," she promised, kissing the top of her head.

She shifted her position to be able to look at Lauren and gave her a knowing grin.

"hm, but why are you scared earlier?"

"Huh??"

"You were scared to come near me" she said, pinching Lauren's nose.

"Huh?"

"Haha. You should have seen your face earlier, Lauren. You looked like you were about to pee in your pants. You wouldnt even move to where you are standing. TBH. Are you scared of me?"

She meant it as a joke, but she felt her heart doing a foxtrot when Camila saw that Lauren was suddenly looking so serious and so...

She couldn't even put a name to it. But she knew that whatever look it was that

Lauren was giving her, it was enough to send her nerves tingling.

"Camila. Yes. I'm scared of you," she confessed in a very low voice.

"Huh?"

"I'm scared that if I came near, that I wouldn't be able to stop myself from doing what I'd always wanted to do," Lauren said, running a hand down her back.

"Which is... what?" she asked in a voice that was barely above a whisper.

"Touch you... like this," Lauren said, abandoning her back and going for her tiny waist.

"Lo..."

"Feel you... like nobody has ever done before," Lauren whispered, her hands exploring the inside of her top.
