"Your death had me realize that every single second we spent together, I wasted an opportunity to tell you how much I love you... I wish I could turn back time and made every second worth it. I want to see you soon."

-

"Ready?" My mom asked me with smile. I nod in reply. She started the engine and proceeded into driving. It would be a long journey for us going back to our hometown. I spent my first five years in that town, but it always made me wonder why I don't remember anything back then.

After 4 hours of travel, we finally arrived at our destination. We stopped in front of a big house painted in white facing the sea. We are welcomed by my grandparents, and some maids. After that warm welcome we have, they did a lot of talking so I decided to get out of there and explore around the beach. I walked, and walked not knowing where I would go.

I felt tired so I seated on the sand while hugging my knees. The sky is already tinted in orange. I kept my eyes on the horizon, when I felt someone sat beside me. I looked at my side and saw a familiar guy at my age also looking at the sea. He faced my direction and stared at me. I stood up and saw him stand up too. I walked again and I felt him following me. I turn around and saw him smiled hesitantly.

"I know that smile." I told myself but only in my mind. In an instant, memories came flowing back to me.

"Artemis." I saw him smile widely. I felt my feet walked towards him. Then, my walk turned into a run. It seemed like it was a run for my memories. I hugged him and I felt him hugged me back.

"I thought you already forgotten me." He said. I heard him sighed. I tightened my embrace, and heard him chuckled.

"I miss you." I whispered.
"Yeah, me neither." I heard a hint of pain in his voice.

Night came, and darkness filled the surroundings. He walked me home while holding my hand tightly. I can't remember clearly what kind of relationship we had before but, being able to hold him at that time seemed like the only thing that mattered to me. We bid our goodbyes and promised to see each other again tomorrow.

That very night, I had a dream. It was about us, when we were still young. I dreamt of us playing happily by the sea. Then in an instant, I saw him slowly drifting into the vast waters. I can see his tears, while he was slowly swallowed by the sea. Then I saw nothing but emptiness. I can feel pain growing on my chest. A lot of pain that it made breathing hard for me.

"Rebecca!" I can hear someone called my name.
"Rebecca!" I felt something warm on my cheeks. I slowly opened eyes and saw my mom.
"Mom." I said. She is looking at me with anxiety. Ah, I remember those eyes. I've seen that eyes so many times before. I reached for her face to assure that everything's okay.
"Why are you crying?" My mom asked.
"Me?" I asked in return. I touched my cheeks and felt that it was wet. I got up and rubbed my eyes.
"I had a bad dream."

After having my breakfast, I went back to where we met each other yesterday. I saw him picking up some sea shells, and then the memory of my dream came flowing back to me. I was just standing there, looking intently at him.

He looked at me and gave me a sweet smile. He came towards me and placed his arms around my neck. I felt my heart beating wildly inside my chest. Then I felt something cold on my neck. He pulled away from me, while I looked to see what that cold thing is. I saw a very beautiful pendant that is shaped like a sea shell hanging from my neck.

"You like it?" He asked. I nod in reply.
"Did you make it yourself?" I asked while holding the pendant on my hands.
"Yeah." He answered then smiled at me.
"It's beautiful. Thank you so much." I said.
"Welcome." He held my hand and we walked together.
"Hey." I broke the long silence that has grown between us since we started strolling along the sea.
"Hmmm?" He answered.
"Last night, I dreamt about us playing happily while we we're still young, then, a moment after, I already saw you drifting away into the sea." I felt him stopped walking, and looked at me.
"You think I'm already dead?" He asked. I pulled my hands away from his, and then placed both of it on his cheeks.
"But I can touch you." I whispered. He placed his hands on top of mine and pulled it away from his face, while still holding it.
"Let's go?" I nodded in reply.
