The sun began to rise over London. Riley Thomas opened her eyes and jumped out of bed. Opening her blinds she looked over the city, this was going to be her last day in London as she was moving to Wales. She turned around and left her room, padded down the stairs and went into the kitchen. Her mother was already up making pancakes. "Morning dear." she said "How are you?" She was trying to be nice.
Riley never wanted to move, but after her mum and dad got divorced her mum wanted to move back to her home place. However Riley loved London, she liked to wander round shops with friends and try on clothes she knew she could never afford. Her mum poor or rich. But they where still pretty well off.
Riley sighed, shrugged her shoulders and slumped down in the chair. Her mum gave her a pile of pancakes and some orange juice. After breakfast Riley went upstairs and got changed. Her room was empty apart from her bed and some clothes to wear today. She shoved them on, ragged her smooth red hair into a bobble and gazed into the mirror. She was 14, nearly 15, had bright blue eyes and a perfect smile. Everyone said to her she was gorgeous, but she didn't believe them. She knew she was pretty but not gorgeous. Looking away from the mirror she looked at the clock. 9:00 she wasn't leaving until 12. 'May as well make the most of it.' she thought. " Mum I going to out. I'll be back by twelve." said picking up the £10 of side. "Okay be back for twelve" she replied "And get some dinner while your out okay?"
"Yes mum. " she said and walked out the door.
On her way she stopped off at Costa and ordered a large caramel cappuccino to go. Walking out of the shop she turned left down a narrow alley and then turned right. There was bushes on either side but there was a gap in one that led to Riley favorite place. It was a place that used to be a back garden but the house had been knocked down so low the garden was empty. But Riley loved it here. It helped her think.
She stayed there for hours until she had to go home. When she got home her mum was already getting into the car, and a removal van was taking away all of the other things away. Riley chambered into her mums car and was soon pulling away from the house.
