This story isn't mine but I my group in drama class wrote this, so I'm publishing it.
Characters:
Anya - Security; Travis; a little boy who wants a safe home and secure family to return home to every night.
Shelby- Peace; Grace; a teenage girl who wants her parents to stop fighting and wants the war to stop. She just wants peace.
Kristina- Power; Father; thinks a relationship is about showing authority and power. Believes he needs to be powerful and respected.
Stevie- Family/ Love; Mother; knows that family means compromise; wants to show compassion and wants their family to be normal again. Wants love and family.

Narrator- A couple in the town of Briarville has been struggling. They all have different beliefs on the values of life and how they should live it. As the mother and father are fighting, their children are watching it all unfold. This next scene shows the family, at war with one another over their beliefs. Fighting over peace, love, family, security, and power.
(Couple is fighting, while children watch from doorway.)
Stevie- You never do anything right! You never say anything right! You are wrong, wrong, wrong! So wrong! Your beliefs are absolutely ridiculous and so are you! Do you have to be so incredibly childish?!
Kristina- What did you just say to me?! You do not get to talk to me like that! I am your husband, therefore I own you! You don't get to tell me how I should behave!
Stevie- (Look weak almost defeated.)But you are wrong! All wrong! You know nothing! (Now speak softly.) I love you, you know that right? We're a family; a team. We should be working together, but you always have to take control. I just wish you would see that. It hurts- (Stevie is cut off by Kristina throwing one of the chairs across the room.) (Gulp and look terrified.)
Kristina- Argggggg!!!!!!!! How can you say that after everything I've done for you! You'd be dead if it weren't for me! I do so much for you. All of you! I am the glue that holds this family together! You don't get to make decisions! I do! (Act angry, upset, and powerful.)
Narrator- The children come in, stopping one argument... But starting another.
Shelby- What is wrong with you- (Look angry at Leighann's interruption.)
Leighann- *WAIILLLLLL* I just want a good home, and a nice family, and kind people! Is that too much to ask for? You guys are ruining it for me! And by it, I mean my life!
Kristina- Calm down! All of you!
Shelby- But I am calm. I'm always calm. Why are you tell me to calm down. Now maybe you could calm down, but I'm simply trying to tell you that the way you are dealing with this is wrong. Fighting is not the answer.
Kristina- None of you have any right to attack me! I own you! All of you! I made you! (Gestures to children.) And I married you! (Gestures to wife.) You're kidding me right?! (Clench fists and picks up another chair to throw it.)
Shelby- Wait. Dad take a deep breath. Let's all sit down and talk about it. Work through it all. There is no reason to fight.
Leighann- We can't sit down, dad threw the chairs! *WAIILLLL AGAIN* Why do you have to be so violent. (Gestures to Kristina.)
Stevie- What is there to talk about? I did nothing wrong. All I want is the best for you, children. Your father doesn't see it that way though. I love you, but you make it hard to communicate because all you want to do is talk. (Look slightly sad.)
Kristina- And all I want is for you all to listen and respect me. That is what I deserve. I don't deserve the way you have been talking to me. (Look angry, powerful, and menacing.)
Leighann- I just want you to love me. I just want a real home. (Look sad and scared as you sit on the ground.)
Shelby- I just want you all to listen to me. I just want everyone to stay calm. Seriously??? (Look defeated and upset.)
Kristiana- Fine. I guess we can talk about it. But just so you know, I am right. I'm always right. (Adjust your shirt and flip your hair slightly.)
Stevie- (Glare and roll your eyes.)
Leighann- I can have my family back! That's all I wanted. I just want a stable place to be.
Shelby- I'll be happy as long as you all chill out.
Stevie- I'll be happy as long as you all happy.
Kristina- I'll be happy only when I win. (Get chairs that Kristiana threw across the room, and sit down as we whisper to each other.)
