Days passed and Alex was the only person I had spoken to since the heated fight with my older sibling had happened. I had decided to befriend Alex. He made living on the earth a little less boring.

I stuck my tongue out at Alex in a childish manner, causing him to laugh aloud. His laughter was gentle and comforting. I liked Alex. I liked him a lot. Although I didn't think that the child of "Satan" would be able to like a person to this extent. I stared gently at Alex as his laughter came to a subtle stop. He stared into my eyes as a gentle silence fell between us.

"I really like you." I whispered, filling the moment of silence. Alex smiled gently before answering in a quiet whisper.

"I like you too." There was a comfortable silence between us. Alex leaned in slowly and begun to close his eyes. I felt as though butterflies were fluttering around in my stomach. But as he got closer, the butterflies became aggressive. I was feeling new emotions. Like my stomach was in my throat and swimming with pterodactyls. My heart thumped wildly against my ribcage. But I moved in closer. I closed my eyes and pressed my lips against his gently. His lips were warm against mine and the pterodactyls disappeared. But I felt like sparks were flying. Alex soon pulled away and stared at me.

"Did you feel that?" I whispered. Alex nodded before kissing me again. We kissed for a few minutes before pulling away. We layed in the field and watched the clouds happily.

"Look!" Alex shouted, pointing at the sky "A lamb." I looked at the lamb shaped cloud and laughed. A soft breeze brushed my face and the sweet scent of the flowers in the spring air filled my nose. It was all quite comforting. I looked down at Alex's hand that rested gently in the palm of mine with our fingers intertwined. I loved Alex. He was the only person I needed to keep me company on earth.

"We need to talk" my father's voice filled my head, causing me to sit right up in a jolt of shock.

"I gotta go!" I shouted, pushing myself to my feet "I'm sorry!" I ran off into the forest that ran along one side of the opening. I checked my surroundings for any civilians before opening a vortex to the underworld. The red and black colours of the vortex spun and shimmered in the pale afternoon light. I took a deep breath before walking through it with ease. It sent a cold chill through my body. Like jumping into an ice cold pool on a hot Summers day. I walked the path to the caste in which I lived with my family and the home of my Father's throne. Along the way, as I pushed away some clingy demons and lost souls, I worried about what he would like to discuss with me. I came to two conclusions. One I could deal with and the other scared me just a little. The first of my two conclusions was the fight for his throne and the fight I had had with brother all those days ago. My second and quite frightening conclusion was Alex. I remembered the words my father had once repeated to me when I was just a little demon child. 'You must never speak to the humans' he whispered 'they don't understand you'. My father was very soft with me as a child but very stern with Luca. It made me wonder if maybe there was something I didn't know. I thought back to the times where he would bully. The memories were a blur but he would always laugh in my face as he uttered the words... The words... I couldn't quite remember them. But they were always the same words.

"Good afternoon, Lillian?" my father greeted, his voice soft and quiet. I looked to my father and nodded my head once.

"You wished to see me?" I asked as politely as I possibly could. I wasn't scared of my father. He seemed to treat me as though I was somewhat fragile. My father pushed himself out of the blood throne and walked over to stare out the window of the castle. He stared out across the kingdom, as if deep in thought.

"I want to talk about your mother" he mumbled as he turned to face me. My eyes widened in wonder. My father would always yell at Luca whenever he mentioned my mother. I always wondered about my mother. When I was thirteen hundred years old. My father had pulled me aside to tell me about how she had left when I was born.

"What about her?" I mumbled, walking to run my fingers over the blood throne. My father watched me cautiously, as I took a seat beside the blood throne. He cleared his throat, obviously hesitant to speak.

"I used to get around," he begun. He avoided eye contact with me, staring off into the distance, he was obviously deep in thought. But about what I did not know. I couldn't seem to decipher his facial expression. He seemed emotionless. Without a soul. I laughed quietly at the thought, causing my father to balance back at me.

"I was scared when you're mother told me she was pregnant," he continued "And she was scared when you were born. She loved you and I found out that I really could love somebody but she couldn't handle it." he stared at me. His deep red eyes were soft and apologetic. I'd never seen him like this before. I never knew he had a side like this. The words ran through my head. 'I learnt I really could love someone'. I was so confused. So intrigued. I found myself staring at the ground as emotions that I'd never felt ran through me. I felt tears build up in my bright blue eyes. That was something I'd always wondered about. My eyes. Both Luca's and my father's are a deep crimson red but mine were a bright blue.

I wiped my eyes and looked up at my father. He was staring at me, worry filling his eyes.

"You were so beautiful." he laughed before his expression went dark "She freaked out and left. She left you a gift for your thirteen hundredth and your eighteen hundredth birthday." I pulled a small black box out of his pocket. It was tied with a satin white ribbon. He placed it softly into my hand and stared at me momentarily.

"May I?" I whispered. My father laugh quietly before nodding with a smile. I pulled at the satin ribbon and it fell to the ground. Hesitantly, I reached for the lid. My mind came up with few ideas. But what was inside was more beautiful than anything I could have ever imagined. I lifted the weightless lid and stared in admiration at the beautiful, silver necklace that lay before me. I lifted it out of the box by the charm attached to the chain. The silver wings layed in the palm of my hand and I lifted my head to stare at my father.

"That is all, you may leave" he smiled gently at me and with a nod, I created a vortex back into the human world.
