Back to the Future part VI

Part 8

Friday, October 30th 2015, 5.58pm

At the McFly Household, Suzy is joining The McFly family for dinner. Also present are Scott, Marty Senior, Jennifer, Marlene and Marty Junior. Jennifer opens a cupboard and brings out a cake. She takes it over to the table.

JENNIFER

Scott... Suzy... This is for getting top grades in your local history project at school.

SCOTT

Thanks Mom.

MARLENE

Did Suzy do all the work for you Scott? You're usually terrible at history.

SCOTT

We've both been studying hard, haven't we Suzy.

Suzy nods her head.

MARLENE

She must be a good influence on you.

SCOTT

Yes. I think she is.

MARLENE

Well, little brother, I know you two have just started going out together, but you both seem good for each other.

Suzy blushes.

SCOTT

I have a feeling we'll be together for a long while.

SUZY

I have that feeling too.

MARTY SENIOR

Well I hope the future goes well for you both, whatever it brings.

Scott smiles and Marty Senior tucks into some cake.

MARTY SENIOR

Ah well; all's well that ends well. Hmmm, nice cake.

MARTY JUNIOR

What's that supposed to mean Dad?

MARTY SENIOR

I mean the school project.

Scott and Suzy smile at each other.

SCOTT

What else would he mean?

Scott winks at Suzy.

Marty Junior and Marlene spot the wink and frown curiously.

Scott looks at Suzy.

SCOTT

Hey Suzy, fancy a Pepsi?

SUZY

Yeah, sure.

Scott gets up to look in the fridge.

SCOTT

Hey dad, we're out of Pepsi in here. Do we have any more?

MARTY SENIOR

I think there's some in the garage. I'll go out and see.

Marty heads out of the front door and heads around to the garage. Suddenly there is the sound of three sonic booms. Marty jumps around to see a grandfather clock sitting on the front lawn.

The door of the grandfather clock swings open, and Doc emerges wearing a similar outfit to the one he was wearing at the end of Back to the Future part 1. Doc spies Marty.

DOC

Marty! You gotta come back with me!

MARTY SENIOR

Where? Back to the future? No, no, no Doc, the family are all here, we're all having dinner.

DOC

Well, bring them along. This concerns them too.

MARTY SENIOR

Wait a minute, Doc. What are you talking about? What's going on? Does this involve the kids again?

DOC

No no no no no, Marty, the kids are fine. It's you I'm worried about Marty, we've got to something about you!

Marty looks at the grandfather clock.

MARTY SENIOR

Hang on Doc, are you telling me you built a time machine out of a grandfather clock?

DOC

Time machine? No, no, no Marty, you've got it all wrong.

MARTY SENIOR

What do you mean Doc? When the hell have you come from anyhow?

DOC

When? October 30th 2015! The appropriate question is where the hell have I come from.

Marty looks confused. Doc points at the grandfather clock.

DOC

This baby isn't a time machine Marty, it's a dimension machine!

MARTY SENIOR

A what?

DOC

This machine, which I invented, can travel between all the parallel dimensions we created by travelling through time. Come on Marty we're wasting time!

Marty is bemused. Doc climbs inside the clock and beckons Marty in after him.

DOC

Come on in Marty.

MARTY

Hey, Doc, you'd better back up, there's not enough room to fit me in there as well.

DOC

Room? There's all the room in the world. It's bigger on the inside!

Marty curiously climbs into the grandfather clock behind Doc and the door closes. There are three sonic booms and the clock vanishes into thin air with a temporary ring of fire where it once stood.
