"You made me move here!" You reminded your mother for the third time this evening. She up and moved the two of you to Ireland. No one moves to Ireland, you think. All your friends live in America, how are you supposed to talk to them now? Your mom just didn't think about it. She ony thought about herself it seems like.
"Look honey I'm sorry about the move I am, but it's for work and I need you to help me a little." She says distressed. You rolled your eyes seeing you have no other choice but to help. "Plus there is a sweet boy that lives next doork and he's only a year older then you. What was his name again? Was it Niall? I believe it was Niall." She smiles holding a pot in her hand, getting ready to make dinner.
"I'm going on a walk." You say walking towards the door. "Be safe sweetheart! Call me if you need anything." She yells your way. You mentally slap yourself and walk out the front door. Who can't she just be like a normal mom that isn't all over protective.
Before you moved your mom told you about a park just a mile up the road from your house. You decide what a better night to go and just sit on a swingset like you did years ago. It's refreshing to swing it brings back memories of a time not so long ago. It's almost like you never grew up, you were still that little girl catching fireflies in the back yard and you father was cooking on the grill.
But it's a history now. Mom moved you away and there's nothing you can do about it. As you approach the park you have to go through some wooded areas. But something stops you from going farther, voices talking to be exact. You can't help but listen in..
"Look Niall, you're a sweet lad and all but let's face it I'm way out of your league. I'm beautiful and you're, well you're, this isn't the point. The point is this whole set of was just joke. It's not real." A girly voice says. It's almost nasily. You swallow hard and wait for a response. "Are you serious Kelsey? This was a some sort of sick fucking joke? Plus you telling, is that supposed to make me feel better?" He asks. You shake your head in disbelief.
It's honestly sick hat people play those kinds of jokes on people. It's terrible. "Look mate it was my idea don't go bitching to her." Another male voice says. You can't take anymore of it. You come out of hiding and go up to the only girl you could see. She was a bit taller thean you with long way black hair. It almost matched yours but hers looked dyed.
"Look here bimbo, I don't know you and I don't know practically anyone else in this town but if this is how you treat someone, playing some game on an innocent guy I don't want any part of living here. You have no right to stand here and say thw words you said to this kid." Then you turn to the boy that was tallest of them all, blond hair with brown eyes. "And you, you sicken me just as much. Your idea to play a prank is disgusting, you do know what happens to some kids in America when this happpens, thay think they're worthless, like they don't mean anything. What the hell is going on through your mind?" You scream in frustration.
Kids like them are sick. They mutter a sorry and scramble off before you can do anything else. You sigh loudly before looking at the shorter boy, he had blue eyes and dyed blond hair. "Thanks but I was handleing that rather well." The boy known as Niall says. "Oh you were doing a magnificent job." You try to mimick his amazing Irish accent. "Niall." He says holding out one of his hands. You take it in yours and smile. "Quynh."
You look him in the eyes and see sadness. "Look I know it wasn't any of my business to interviene but I had to. One of my riends back home, she had the same thing happen and it didn't end well. I don't want to see that happen for you you seem like a nice kid. Oh and we're neighbors." His expression changes from sad to confused. "OH yeah I saw you move in today, my mom said you were a year younger the me. Shouldn't I be calling you the kid?" You mock him a bit and then you both begin to laugh.
"But what I'm trying to say is there is going to be a lot of people that let you down in life. There will be people that hurt you but you have to choose which ones are worth the pain. There's plenty of fish in the sea and if they can't see your true amazingness then screw them." You walk with him until you finally reach the swings and sit down. "Thank you." He says.
Two years later......
"Josh, I want you out of my life. Just leave." You scream at your boyfriend of a year Josh. He got another girl pregnant. "But Quynh, baby." You stop him. "You don't deserve to call me that anymore." You run away and go to the only place you feel safe. Niall comes back from X-Factor today. He has to pack for a tour though and he only has a week to spend with you and his family. You were excited until Josh ruined it.
As you approach the familiar park you once played at years ago your phone goes off saying you had a call. You pull it out of your pocket and answer knwoing it was Niall. "Hey Quynh! Babe I'm home, where are you? We have so much to talk about!" He was so excited. You couldn't ruin it. "I'm at the park Ni. I'm so proud of you." You try to stay as happy as could be but it wasn't enough.
"Quynh, we've known eachother for two years, I know when something's up. What's wong?" He sighs in the phone.
"Josh, he got a girl pregnant. Not just any girl but Kelsey." You let tears drip forcibly down your face now.
"Oh babe I'm so sorry. That is so terrible. But I need you to do something for me and turn around." You look up and around and saw him. Niall standing right there, "Niall." You say tossing your phone to the ground. He runs to you and takes you into his arms, afraid of letting go. "Babe, I'm so sorry about Josh. He's an idiot."
You chuckle into his arms and you just sink into him. "You know, a girl once told me that there's plenty of fish in the sea and that there would be a few idiots that run through. But they will just get me closer and closer to my true love. Quynh, I didn't realize this until I had left but you're my everything. Ever since I met you right here in this park I thought "She's amazing" But I love you and I can't shake this feeling anymore."
You stare into his eyes. "Niall, I-I love you too." For that moment you knew he was who you had been searching for.
