Marcus inspected his pistol, he took it out and gave it a nice long look, then slid it back in the holster. Vector was still certain of the munitions left in his cartridges.

"What do you mean, Ranger?"

Marcus made this hand gesture that appeared like he was pressing some invisible object down. Vector knew very specifically it signified 'get down, stay low'

Both were ducked behind lush herbage, guns heightened and eyes locked. Marcus' magnum was strongly vibrating, his finger loosely ahead of the curved trigger, just awaiting the moment to pull it definitely and to eliminate the threats that were hunting him. But he was losing his grip.

Damn it. Please stop shaking.

There it was, another hover drone came into close proximity. It just floated in between the trees. Vector had his fist clenched, thinking the ways to sabotage the drone.

What impeccable timing. I knew it would come around this time.

He suddenly did a barrel roll and launched a bullet. In that short period of time, the PAU drone detected the incoming bullet, traced it's trajectory back to its origin. However, it was too late. The bullet made contact with the head of the drone and created a cloud of dust.

Somehow, the drone was still operational and began firing its twin machine guns. Pinging noises were heard as the drone sprayed far and wide, ripping apart leaves and branches.

Marcus was able to regroup with Vector, who was evading the line of fire from behind a log.

"Hang on..."

Vector pulled the safety pin off a grenade and counted to three, he chucked it into the air and both shut their eyes and covered their ears.

A ka-boom went off, to the survivors, it was nothing but a muffled knock on the door.

Marcus stayed in his position for a while, taking the time to recover once more, though Vector already hurried over to further ruin the drone. The enemy asset still had a blinking red eye.

"Oh shut up!"

Vector's leg lifted and slammed onto the drone, crunching the internal computer.

"Now we wait right?"

"Yeah, good work man."

"Once they find out one of their drones have gone missing..."

"Reinforcements. And we will use the Gunner suit to take that out."

"Heh, that's not a bad idea! I wonder why we didn't think of it earlier."

Their chuckle died down.

"Sir, we just lost connection with Dragonfly 803. Last emitted signal was from somewhere in the G Sector."

A white light flickered on the transparent display board. A man in a dull gray suit sauntered to the seated officer at the controls.

"What did I just hear..." the man's teeth emerging from his jaws, which were tight together.

"Sorry sir, ehm, but the signal was received quite recent." The officer was stuttering.

Slam.
