Chapter one:
Junior Year

"PARIS WAKE UP!" My mother screams from Down stairs. Slowly I open my eyes. The sun shines through my pink and purple curtains. I lay in bed with my hands and legs Sprawled out. I turn towards the alarm clock on my night stand, it reads "7:00 Am." I groan knowing that today is the first day back to school since June. Being the lazy person I am, I slowly peel myself from out of bed and I make my way towards my bathroom, dragging my feet along the way. After My shower I walk into my closet trying to decide on what to wear. "Okay Paris it's your junior year of high school, dress normal." I grab some clothes from their hangers. "This one?" I look at myself in my two, long length mirrors that hang from the back of my closet door. "nope" I slip off that outfit and chuck it on the floor. Quickly I grab one last set of clothes and put them on. "This one" nodding at myself in my mirror I slip on a pair of black Vans making sure I check my alarm clock before making my way down stairs.

The house echoes as I jump down the stairs to get to the kitchen. "Good morning Paris" mother yells as I jog into the kitchen. "Good morning" I smile. She hands me a bowl of cereal before continuing to do whatever she was doing earlier. I look down at my cereal bowl, O shaped pieces float in the milk. "You like that cereal?" Mother asks as I scoop a huge spoon full into my mouth. I nod, crunching sounds fill my ears as I eat my cereal. She laughs. "Hurry along you're going to be late for school" Mom says.

Quickly I grab my bag off the chair behind me. "Okay I'm leaving" I say rolling my eyes. "Oh, ride to school with Caleb! I don't want you walking to school!" I stop in my steps. Caleb makes his way down stairs carrying his book bag on his right shoulder, he reaches the last step and smiles. "Good morning."

Caleb is my step brother, he's a senior, he and I go to the same school. I hate his guts! Even though we've known each other for over 3 years, we've never had a day where we actually like each other. He makes my life a living hell! Everyday he walks into my room and bothers me while I do my homework, he also calls me any and every name you can think of, one time he even put Shaving cream on my birthday cake and made me and the rest of the family sick for a month, he's horrible. "Do I have to?" I groan. Mother gives me the evil eye and that's when I know not to push her. I give her one of my signature frowns while I cross my arms. She shakes her head before walking out of the kitchen. "UGH! FINE!" I yell.

"Hurry the Hell up Caleb before we're late to school" anger obviously is heard in my voice. "PARIS! watch your mouth!" My mom gives me a disgusted look as she cleans up the living room. I give her a smug grin before grabbing Caleb by his arm. "Little miss perfect cussed" He says as we walk out of the front door, a bright little smile appears on his face. I ball my fists, wanting to punch him so that smug little smile disappears. 'Okay Paris not today, you can't punch Caleb on the first day of school, your time will come.'

"Come on we're late because of you" I cross my arms after sitting down in the front seat of Caleb's car. He looks at me before slamming the door behind him as he gets in the car. The whole car ride to school was awkward neither of us said a word, the only sound you could hear was the purring of the cars engine and the sound of Caleb fiddling with the nob on the radio.
