"He's doing what!" Alexis screeches at Sage.

"He's organising a Venatio Ritual...and he wants you to be the Venatrix," Sage sighs, running a hand through his hair before muttering, "I'll leave you to chew on this - it must be a lot to take in."

Alexis nods slowly, her mind replaying what he'd just said. A heartbeat later the door is closing behind her Beta. She lowers herself onto her bed and hangs her head. Nathaniel had to have lost his mind, whatever was in that vial had planted a whole new set of ideas into his head. The Alpha now wanted to kill everyone who had had a part in his parent's and pack's deaths all those years ago. He was organising a Venatio Ritual; a very rare and old ritual that was performed on the full moon that promises a one way ticket to a war. All the wolves of the pack would be forced to swear an unbreakable blood oath to the Alpha infront of the whole pack or be executed on the spot by the Alpha. The blood oath would mean that you had to follow the Alpha's orders, just as always, but these orders would be to hunt down and kill any creature the Alpha set you and you wouldn't, couldn't, stop until it was dead. Even if you were uttering your last breath and the creature was tearing you apart limb by limb you would put up a hundred and ten percentage fight to kill it...And he wanted her to be the leader of the hunt...His Huntress...His Venatrix.

"Miss me?" She was so immersed in her thoughts that she nearly tumbled off the bed when Cassius tapped her on the shoulder.

"What-Why...How did you get in?" She stutters, coaxing an eyebrow.

"Your window was unlocked," He shrugs with a short chuckle.

"Oh," she whispers.

"So...A Venatrix?" He smirks, lying down on her bed, "I like it."

"Cassius!" She moans, "This is serious, he wants me to kill Alphas! I don't even think I could get a hit in, they'll rip me to pieces," She mumbles the last part, fear seeping into her words.

He sits up frowning, "Look," He mumbles dragging a hand down his face, "I'll...protect you, okay?"

"You can't...You just...can't. Even if you can stop me killing them, I'll kill you, I won't be able to stop myself."

He sighs and kneels on the ground infront of her. Taking her hands in his he looks her in the eyes, "You will be able to resist it, I promise you."

"Cassius...you can't know that," Alexis bites her lips and shakes her head, "You just...can't."

He growls in frustration, "Okay, just listen to me. Your different, Ayita, and I can't explain it to you because it's not time. But you're...just different, you'll be able to resist it, it'll be hard, but you will if you have the determination, so just try...for me, and for you,"

"Cassius, what are you talking about-"

He cuts her off, "Not now, Sage is coming. Just promise me that you'll resist the oath," he leans down and presses his lips to her forehead, "Just promise me," He whispers against her skin.

He pulls away just as the door opens, "Cassius," Sage hisses, alarmed.

"Don't worry, Valdez, I told her nothing," Cassius nods at Sage.

Sage let's out a breath. "Good luck."

"Wait, what, Cassius what's going on-"

"And to you," Cassius nods to Sage once again, ignoring her.
