"I want a perimeter around the building. Nothing gets in and nothing gets out!" shouted our team leader, Puma.
My boots splashed in the brown sludge on the road as I moved into position. As I ran, I looked over every detail on the abandoned road. There were lots of furniture and crap on the road. It looked like the remaining humans left in a hurry. The city seemed hauntingly silent. It felt like someone or something was watching me. I turned my attention back onto the objective and turned left into an alleyway.
I saw my teammate was already at the side door waiting for me. "Could you go any slower?" he asked.
"Shut up," I retorted.
I trudged through the mud and water towards the door and got in position. "Red team, head in and clear the lobby", ordered Puma.
I took one small step into the room and I knew shit was about to go down. The air was chalky and foggy.
There was no sign of life, but something in my gut told me to run.
"Lobby is clear", radioed my partner, Rift.
"We are headed in", responded Puma.
