"High school is so confusing. Everyone is just so confusing. But I guess, you yourself are confusing too."
Echo Winters stood in front of her mirror and sighed. She threw her scarf over her shoulder and ran downstairs, where her father greeted her. He pinched her cheek like he did every morning. "First day at a new school, hmm?" He said with a wink. She sighed. "Where's my backpack?" Her father handed her a black and purple stripped backpack. She grabbed it and swung the door open. "I'll meet you in the car." she said, slamming the door behind her. As she tucked some loose hair behind her ear, she looked down to see a black cat rubbing against her leg. "Hello there, Panther." She said crouching down to stroke the thin, black cat. She reached inside her pocket, and took out a few cat treats and put them off to the side. She got into the car and watched Panther eat the treats she set out for him, as she waited for her father.
"They will ignore you until they need you."
Kyle Wakefield adjusted a crooked picture on his wall. The picture showed him with a group of boys. The picture frame said in big black letters "FRIENDS". Kyle sighed and checked his watch. He was supposed to meet his friends in 10 minutes. He flung open his closet door and grabbed a snap back and sunglasses and put them on in front of a mirror. They had to be just right. He then took a small, pink earring and put it in his ear. He looked at it in the mirror and smiled. He walked out of his room and into the kitchen, when his mother stopped him. "Sorry hun, I didn't make you breakfast, just grab an apple." "Ok mom." He said with a smile. "And take out that earring, boy, you look gay with it on!" Kyle turned around to find his step father glancing at him with an angry look. He smiled and said "No sir." and calmly left the apartment.
"Today is one of these days. No, not a Monday. This day."
Violet Carmillia smiled as she adjusted her chest binder, then she got herself into a baggy t-shirt. She shook her head and rustled up her hair, and styled it. She ran outside with her books and waved her Uncle away as he left for work. She then approached her Aunt, who was working in the garden. "Good morning, Auntie!" She said with a smile. "Good morning, Viol---" her aunt stopped as she looked up. After standing up, she kissed her niece on the cheek. "Sorry, Good morning, Victor." She said with a wink. Violet didn't mind being called female pronouns, but today, she he was going by male pronouns. That's what kind of day today was. He zipped up his jacket, and ran to his bus stop where he would wait for the 13A. He didn't want to be late, this was the day he didn't have any classes with Kyle Wakefield. He was an asshole."
