and the sterile blankness
of my world remains just as it:
impassive, pragmatic,
and ever so pristine.i was taught to hide
behind the blinding
flashes of my dazzling smile.i was taught to project
pure w h i t eand nothing else.
because i could only be
p e r f e c tand nothing else.
but now,
a rebellion rises
within me.a rekindled flame
seeks to outshinethe blank
canvases that
we all are.i don't want to just
remain spotless.i don't want to
remain flawless.so maybe,
i'll splatter some
w a t e r c o l o u r
onto my fading papyrus.maybe, just maybe,
it's time to shine my
white light through
a p r i s m--i'll be waiting for the
s p e c t r u m
on the other side.
