I was sitting in the back seat of my mums white Toyota. We were driving down the street. this was my life now. That's it now there's no going back. My mum and I had moved to Silver Spring Washington. Mum kept on driving up the street.

I looked out the window and noticed a large paddock and a gorgeous modern house. My mum then spun the wheel and we rolled up the drive-way.

"Is this our new house mum?" I asked

"Yes it is, do you like it?" replied mum.

"Mum I love it!"

Mum turned off the car and we took our bags out of the boot. I looked up. 'Yes' I said to myself. It was a two story house. I heaved a heavy grey suitcase up the stairs towards the front door there was a nice garden with climbing roses.

"Keys please" I called out.

Mum tossed me the front door keys, and I placed them into the lock and twisted I pulled open the double doors and walked down the stone tiles dragging my suit case with me, I dropped it and raced up stairs, I walked into a large bedroom and pulled open the sliding door out onto a small veranda, I looked out over the balcony and saw the moving truck pull up, It was only 11.29 AM so we had plenty time to unpack.

"Shotgun this room Mum"

"Yea sure as long as my room has an en-suite darling"

"Okay I will look around for your room"

I walked out of the room and down a hallway I open another door and the room looked identical to the other one, the same balcony, en-suite closet and lamps, I opened the sliding door and walked onto the balcony.

"This one can be your room Mum in has an en-suite"

I raced back down stairs and dodged two men lifting a couch, it was only me and Mum my Father left us when I was two and so my Mum never had another child. I walked down to the kitchen and started unpacking groceries my Mum and I had a big day of unloading to do.

I helped my mum carry a heavy box inside and I didn't know what was inside it, so mum said to me "open the box please"

I opened the box and found my special silver horseshoe engraved in diamonds I looked at my shiny name and grinned. I placed it on my bed-side table and continued to unpack.

By the next half an hour I was finished un-packing and went outside to find mum. When I found her she was crying in her bedroom.

"Mum why are you crying?"

"Because Caramel, my horse, has died, Auntie Rose rung up" Said mum crying

"Oh Mum she was your first pony aye, how did she die?"

" She died of old age, and..... y-yes she w-was my f-first pony"

Mum and I sat on the couch for ages doing nothing but crying. We cried until mum sat up brushed away her tears and said " Honey, we can't sit here all day doing nothing. We need to go down to the shop and buy something for dinner"

Mum and I hopped in the car and drove down to the nearest restaurant called On Ice, mum booked us a table and we ordered for entree " honey prawns with rocket, to take away times two, and for main pork belly also times two, and desert... what do you want hunny?"

"Oh cheesecake please mum, strawberry cheesecake"

"Okay then, strawberry cheesecake it is" Mum smiled at the lady.

Mum and I got back in the car, with our meal, when we got home I ate my dinner and scoffed down my cheesecake, then Mum wired up the T.V and we lazed back and watched Pitch Perfect 2, I dozed of to sleep on the couch, as my bed wasn't set up.

BANG!

I gazed through the curtains just as the white flash vanished, I looked around and there was nothing, I settled back into bed and layed awake as many thoughts crossed my mind, I couldn't wait until the horse floats arrived with my gorgeous grey pony Cotton who would come across her new home, tomorrow I was going to check out the new stable and arena, I then dozed back to sleep.

BOOM!

The ground wobbled and I sprinted up to Mums room, she meet me at the top of the staircase, the ground shook the house. "Mum is this an earthquake?" I was terrified, I don't know if I want to know the answer. '' yes I think so , lucky the house is flexible'' we ran to duck under the table. the house kept getting light shakes every now and then, The rain was continuous. when we woke the sun was shining but the rest of our day wasn't.
