You've been in the hunting business ever since you were around the age of thirteen, fourteen maybe. You're parents both were into hunting before you were even born, which shocked you when you found out. The day you found out all those monsters you thought could possibly be under your bed, in your closet, or lurking in the dark were actually real, was the day you wished never even happened.

For a split second on that day you wished you had different parents... But then you remembered how great they were to you. You're dad always liked to tease you, but he was just messing around with you. You hated it, but something about it made you feel loved, and comforted. He was also quite protective too, which would get irritating at times.

Both of your parents owned a gun shop, but your mom had most of it under control. She always made the orders, kept everything under control. She worked very hard, sometimes she seemed a bit cold, sometimes she even scared you a little, but at the end of the day she would kiss your forehead and tuck you in before telling her how much she loved you and turning a night light on.

It wasn't until later on that you found out about your parents' secret they've been keeping from you. You remember it like it were yesterday. You were only a kid, and it was a couple weeks before your 13th birthday, your mom and dad left you with your Aunt Liz, who was a hell of a lot more fun than your parents.

"Only 5 days," they told you, you didn't know what they were doing. The only thing they told you is that they were going on a business trip, and you didn't think much of it.

Within the first 4 days, you were having such a great time with your aunt. She was so much fun just to be around, her personality made you so joyful, you looked up to her and wanted to be exactly like her when you grew up.

The fifth day was horrible so far. It was Monday, you hated mondays. Having to wake up early again and go back to school, especially since it put an end to your one week long break. But you were kinda happy, thinking today was going to be the day your parents come back, and possibly sign you out of school early, from what your aunt told you.

Anxiously going about your school day, you were in 3rd period when your teacher called you to his desk. "You're being signed out, go get your stuff and go down to the office," he told you. Your heart raced with excitement.

You got down to the office quickly, eager to see who was there, but your heart dropped when you saw your aunt waiting impatiently, looking stressed. You were hoping it was your parents, but you ended up disappointed.

~Readers POV~

"(Y/n), we have to go now. Go get in the truck" I was told immediately by my aunt. I hesitantly walked out of my school, i guess i was frighted by how serious she was. She was never this tense.

I made my way to the black pickup truck and hopped in, my aunt not too far behind me. "Why did you pick me up? My parents were supposed to.." I said kind of coldly.

"Yeah, well they can't," she replied.

"Why can't they?" My attitude got somewhat worse. I saw tears welling up in her eyes, but she blinked them back.

"They're dead," she said through her shaky breath and started the truck. I stared blankly at the dash trying to process what she said. "Maybe they're okay and just in the hospital, besides, how can they be dead, it was only a business trip.. Car crash maybe? Thats the only logical explanation" that was all i could think. I blinked a couple times and realized we were already driving.
