My name is Uni and I have been living in a place called Strange Waters. This place gives me the creeps but I have to live with it because I have no home to dwell with. If only I have a choice, I would not be living here, but go to another good place. Let me tell you what happened yesteryears.
It was a cold, dark night. With lanterns on the streets, it makes the road feel slightly hot. The sideways are quiet with no people around. The town is sleeping, except us.
"What are you doing here? I told you yesterday to leave our house!" my mother said.
"I can't leave. I need our son to a project that can lead the humanity to a new and wealthy future." Dad said.
"I told you! I don't want you to stick close to our son. Go away! Now!"
"But I-"
"Go away!" Mom pushed Dad away and closed the door.
Those sounds are roaring all over the street that made some people awake.
I was so scared that time. I don't want my mom and dad be apart from each other. Mom has been lonely since last few weeks because Dad took the job as a scientist. "I need to work for your future son." Dad tell these words almost everyday. With all confusion and questions in my head, I lied on the bed, and took a deep breath to sleep.
The next morning, Mom woke me up. "Uni, wake up. This is the first day of school, you remember?"
"Yes Mom." I replied.
"The food is ready down on the table."
"Thanks Mom." I replied.
Mom left the room while I clean up the room. With all things clean and organized, I started walking downstairs quickly so I can eat.
The food is so delicious that I want to stay here and eat many food like this all day and not to go in school. My mother really has a special ability in cooking food that's why I'm so proud of her.
"When you have finished eating, ready all your things and wait for your school bus." she reminded me.
"Okay mom." I replied.
I had finished eating after a few minutes. I was so full that I can't walk too well.
"Mom, I'm going!" I shouted.
"Okay! Good luck at school!" she said.
I hurriedly ran to the school bus and took a seat.
After a few hours...
I am now here, standing at the entrance of George Washington University. I slowly walked towards the school and looked around. I saw so many designs and good stuff around the school. There are students talking happily to each other. There are high buildings surrounding the place that almost covers the whole school. The school is clean. And yeah, there are no bullies. If there is a school I want to be studying, maybe this is it. This school is almost perfect. Then, I went to the room Mom told me to go. There are few students sitting on the chairs of the room. I went to the front and sat on a chair. Then, there's this student who's writing something. I tried to ask him what is he writing, but before I ask, he said,"This will be the first book I'll publish in the school's library." He's like a psychic, he answered my question even I did not told him. I was about to ask another question, but just like before he answered again,"I don't know where I got this power. Mom just told me that I was special amongst the people in the Earth." he said. I was just so amazed, but at the same time, shocked and speechless and I feel strange. I asked myself,"Are there students like him in this school?"
"Yeah, it's not just me, I sense here a classmate of ours have special abilities too." he said. "Try talking to her." pointing to a girl at the back seat. "There is no student here that does not like talking."
"Okay!" I replied.
The room has many students around so I can now freely ask them.
On the last seat at the back, there was this girl who's playing a Rubik's Cube.
"Hello." I politely said.
"Hi." she said.
"Do you? You know..."
"Yeah, want to know that?"
"Yeah!" I said.
"Touch my hand" she said.
"Oh.. Okay." I replied.
Then, I touched here hand.
A lightning has struck me in the head, but not literally. That caused my head to feel dizzy and aching. Then, me and the girl went to a new dimension.
"Whoa. What is this place?" I asked her.
"This is my power. The dreamland. You can create things by just imagining it." she said.
"Wow! Cool!" I said.
I tried thinking of a flaming sword. Then, it just appeared right on my hands. I happily swung it back and forth just like playing a toy sword. This is the best power I have ever felt today.
"There is this another feature here." she said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"One second in the real world is equivalent to two days here."
"Whoa that is cool!" I said.
"Well let's go back in the real world." she said.
"Okay."
Well, here we are again, back at the real world.
"Now you know my power?"
"Yeah. Thanks for letting me try." I said.
After a few minutes, our teacher has arrived. She walked to the front of our class.
"Good morning class." she said.
"Good morning Ma'am." everyone replied.
"I think you guys have friend here for it is impossible if you don't have?"
"Yes, Ma'am." we replied.
She talked about many things about the school and oriented us about the rules and regulations for both the school and the room. She also let us introduce ourselves in front of the class, let us tell anything about ourselves and asked questions.
Suddenly, a loud sound was heard outside. Everyone was shocked, so we hurriedly went outside. A big and scary tree monster was walking recklessly on the land of the school. It was so tall as he was reaching the skies.
"I'll let you know what is he thinking but for now use your imagination, you two." psychic boy said.
"Okay, come on!" dreamland girl said.
We went to the dreamland and imagined many things as many as we can. Then we brought it to the real world and fought as much as we can.
"It is about to destroy that tall building! And that building is almost full of students! Stop it!" he said.
"Let's go!" she said.
Then, we flew over the skies wearing our jetpacks. We slashed and slashed the monster with our swords and burned it with our big flamethrowers. The monster was about to smash the girl, so I shouted,"Dodge it!". But it was too late. The girl was smashed badly and landed fast, hurt badly. As she was landing, she stared at me, pointed her hands on me. I don't know what that means but on my mind right now, I want to destroy and kill the monster.
I suddenly flew over the monster's face and fired my big gun on his eyes. It was no effect because its face is as strong as an enhanced iron. It swung its hand on me but I had dodged. It swung its other hand on me but I had dodged again. Psychic boy told me that its weak spot is its mouth, so I had timed my attack and successfully destroyed the monster. But after the battle, I felt like it's not me. As if I had changed. I realized now what that girl did. She transferred her power on me and everything she knew about this power. So, I will not give up and use this power to a good reason. Now, I went to check the girl. Psychic boy said that she was fine, and she can carry on.
"Wait, I haven't even got your name."
"My name is Humige." he said.
"Oh, nice to meet you." I replied.
"Alright, Uni."
"Yeah, I know that you can psychic my name." I happily said.
"How about you girl? What's your name?" I asked her.
"Caroline. Nice fighting there." she said.
"Well, teach me how to bring it back to you?" I asked.
"You may keep it. Make yourself stronger. You are more capable than me in that power." she said.
"Thanks. I promise you I will do anything to help the people around." I said.
"Okay, see ya later Uni. I have to take Caroline at the hospital for more medical attention." Humige said.
They took the ambulance and went to the hospital.
After a few hours...
I have arrived home. I was so happy and contented to what happened this day.
"Mom! I'm home!" I shouted.
I waited for minutes but there was no shout nor sound inside the house.
"Mom?" I am scared that time.
I walked towards the door and passed through it. I have entered the house, but I was so shocked and scared when I saw blood on the floor.
"Oh... Oh. Please no." I whispered to myself.
I followed the blood tracks leading to one of the house's rooms.
I slowly opened the door.
My knees have weakened on what I saw. Mom. Covered in blood. I ran to her and bend my knees over her.
"Mom? Please wake up! Who did this to you, Mom? Please, come on, wake up!" I said. That was the scariest moment I have ever experienced. It really was.
After a few hours...
The police department have arrived. I want them to investigate the crime but I don't wanna stay on that house very long because I don't want to see my mother's body.
After a few days...
Flew far away from the house. Went to mountains and practiced my powers. Tried hunting animals for food and gathered fruits from the jungle. I tried to practice living alone, but I can't still forget what happened that day.
And that is what happened before.
