It was a quiet morning in Sunnyville, Louisiana and Nick had just finished arranging one of the many orders of bouquets he was commissioned for. He had been working here, at Katie's Flowers, for two years and he didn't plan to quit.
Katie's Flowers was a small botany shop on the corner of Fifth and Sixth avenue, and Nick hoped that one day he'd own a place just like this one. One that smelled of roses and various plants, with a cosy home feeling to it.
Nick had always had a knack for gardening and botany. Ever since he was ten and learning about plant cells and how they function he'd taken a knack for it. That's why he was currently taking courses of botany at the local college.
Nick smiled and set the glass vase that held the boquet in the small refridator that sat under the counter, he smoothed back his hair, trying to get the brown curls out of his face and sat down on the old wooden stool behind the counter.
He pushed his glasses up and looked around, taking in the grassy aroma.
Just then, a guy around Nick's age walked in the small shop, looking around before striding up to the counter. "Hey, um my friend, Oliver, wanted me to pick up his boquet of flowers that he'd ordered yesterday. Um here, let me get the ticket." The guy reached down, shoving his hand in his pocket, trying to find his ticket.
Nick took this time to examine the man.
He had dirty blond hair and green eyes, he was built but not bludgingly built. He looked like he was the same height as Nick, but then again, he was sitting down.
He decided to nickname the man Blondie.
"Here." said Blondie, putting two slips of paper on the counter.
Nick picked up the two slips, one of them was a ticket, the other- it looked like a phone number.
"Uhm sir, why'd you give me a phone number?" Asked Nick, getting up and getting the guy's bouquet, looking at the papers in inquiry.
"Oh, thats my phone number, you should text me sometime. You're really cute." Said Blondie.
Nick blushed,"Thanks...uhm here's the flowers.." He said, setting down the flowers on the counter.
"No problem, so what's your name?" Said Blondie.
"Nick"
"Cool, mine's Finnix." Said Blondie- er Finnix, picking up the vase and making his way out, "Well, I'll talk to you later," he said with a wink, walking out of the small flower shop "¡Hasta luego!"~One month later~
It had only been a month and Nick and Finnix had hung out ten times, had three "sleepovers" (basically theyd hang out late and Finnix or Nick would just sleepover because they were two lazy to drive home.), and ignored the fact that they both liked each other.
The last time they hung out, Nick found out that he and Finnix went to the same college.
Finnix was studying Marine Biology, something Nick would never do, seeing how he hates the Ocean.
Currently, Nick was bundled up on his loveseat, watching Red Band Society. Ever since Finnix showed him the first episode, he'd been hooked.
He was on the last episode when there was a knock on the door. Sighing, Nick got up and walked over to the door, looking through the peephole.
It was a nervous Finnix.
Nick smiled and opened the door, "Hey Finnix! How's it going?"Finnix blushed and smiled "H-Hey Nick, I-I was wondering if...if you....uh here." Nick was then handed a boquet of red tulips.
Wait, he gave him flowers?
Ah yes, red tulips meant confession of love in flower language.
Wait- did that mean that Finnix like Nick?
Nick's eyes widened and his smile grew.
"You're such a romantic nerd. So you're asking me on a date?"
Finnix blushed and nodded, smiling.
And with that, Nick smiled and kissed Finnix.
Fin.
