Man, I really like Cancer. He's tall, he's funny, and he cares about lots of certain things. I'm just a year younger than him, but we've got a lot in common. I really wish I knew how he felt, because some days, it looks like he likes me, other days, I can't tell how he's feeling. As I'm walking around with my best friend, Aquarius, I ask her about the whole ordeal.
"Hey, Aqua?" I ask
"Yea, Gem?" She asks suspiciously, considering I normally don't start sentences off that way.
"Um, so you know all about my huge crush on Cancer. I was wondering what you thought about it, do you think we've got a chance?" I ask, cautiously.
She takes a moment to ponder the question, and create a solid response, like a true Aquarius would.
"I think that you need to let time take its course, if it's meant to be, then that fantastic, if it's not, that means there is someone out there even greater then Cancer, who is going to love you for you. But yea, I think you have a chance. If he does ask you out, he's not gonna wait around, it'll happen in a couple days if it's meant to be." She says, winking at me, then looking over at the doors, as our other best friend Libra finally comes out from the washroom. We hurry over to her, and start walking again, as Aqua fills her in on every detail about what we just talked about, and I just follow along, blushing like a mad man.
As we talked and walked, and did everything typical teenagers would, I suddenly received a text. It was from Cancer!
The girls oohed at me, making me blush even harder, and I sent a response, as we all burst into tears of laughter afterwards. The next day at school, I was over the moon ecstatic. I'd talked to Aqua, Libra and (you guessed it) Cancer all night! It was good getting to know him, even if it was through technology. Now who said it wasn't useful? Aqua and Libra came up and started poking fun at the fact that I was smiling from ear to ear, and they knew it wasn't JUST because it was Friday. Them being my best friends, I obviously told them that I was texting Cancer all night, but I thought they'd forget about it by now. I guess you can't sink the shippers, once the ship is so far out in the ocean, that it's basically in the middle of no where. Yeah, they ship Gemancer, a lot. Oh well, we're best friends, what can you expect.
Later that evening, I was facetiming Aqua, and texting Cancer at the same time. Bad idea. Mostly because she knew who I was texting, making it impossible for me to text without going beet red. I went to bed that night feeling all sorts of happy. The next morning, finally Saturday (YES!) I awoke to the sun shining, the birds chirping, I didn't wake up too late, but I wasn't up too early. Today just seemed perfect. For the past three days, Cancer has been trying to figure out who I like, which is quite embarrassing, considering I like him, not the other guys he's mentioning. I quickly grabbed my phone, and it opened to 3 new messages, 1 from Aqua, and 2 from Cancer. I texted them both back, Aqua obviously being the first to respond since she's like almost NEVER off of her iPad at all. I texted her for awhile before she had to go, and a couple minutes later, received a response from Cancer.
He's been guessing himself and some other person, but he's almost positive it's him. I finally decided to fess up, and I text him that I liked him, to which he responded back with two smiley emojis. He then asked me out. My heart was racing, my pulse was faster then it's ever been, my hands were shaky and I was sweating for the 10 seconds it took to type the three little letters, that spelt "Yes" it felt so good to know that me working up the courage to tell Cancer I liked him, paid off. We've been going strong for 5 and a half months now, and I couldn't ask for anyone better.
