This is dedicated to the most gorgeous, funniest, smartest girl I've ever met. I couldn't ask for a better best friend♥ I love you so much, Jenni. And, I'm SO proud of you. This chapter's for you, love.
I love you! I hope you like my little idea here,♥
As always, with lots of love, your best friend♥
When we got back to Ryan's, I was still terrified. But, I felt better after I got out of that hot car. The air was broke, and I was hot, sweaty, and scared. Oh, and drunk. Drunk's never fun.
The rest of the night, we just watched movies. I wore out the words 'I'm sorry, Ryan'.
The next morning? Oh, that was the fun part. My first hangover, ever. It sucked. But Ryan was great. He was beyond great. He was there for me, when I needed him the most. And, in the end, I noticed that I was wrong, and even though I had apologized profusely the night before, I said it many more times that morning. I said it to the point where he would tell me, 'if you say it one more time, I'm going to hurt you', yet he never did, despite me saying it again, and again...and again.
As for now? Today? It was exactly two weeks after that party, and I'm proud to say, I'm done with Ella. I have a new best friend. Ryan? Well, of course, but he's not new. Her name's Skylar. Now, let's describe her before we get into the events that caused our friendship to grow.
Skylar's taller than most girls our age, and I admire her for it since I'm so short! Now, Skylar had gorgeous hair. It's long. Oh goodness, long is an understatement. And it's red. Well, it's strawberry blond, and it's gorgeous.I neeeeed her hair. Anyways, and her smile. Her smile? Oh, her smile. Ryan says it's the prettiest he's ever seen, besides mine. I disagree, though, because her smile is so pretty. When she smiles, it lights up the room. I'm glad she's been doing it more often, lately.

A week ago:
"Hi, I'm Maria. You're the new girl, right?" I smiled taking a seat next to her in the cafeteria. She was sitting at a smaller table near the corners where all the garbage cans were. That was never a fun place.
She looked up shyly, "Yeah, I'm Skylar. Nice to meet you, Maria."
"You can call me Mia," I smiled at her, taking a bite of my sandwich. She did the same, and she smiled.
"Why don't you come hang out with me and my friend Ryan after school today? He's picking me up from school, he can just pick you up too."
"I should probably get home. We just moved into the house, and I promised my mom I'd help and--"
"Text her," I smiled, handing her my cell phone, "But be secret about it. No phones in school."
"Right," Skylar smiled, typing into my keyboard. Within seconds it buzzed ever-so-softly, and she opened it up. She smiled and handed it back to me, leaving the message open.
Skylar:
Mom, I met this girl, Maria. This is her phone, and she said I could hang out with her after school. Her boyfriend's picking her up. Can I? Pleeeeease? I know I promised to help you, and everything, but Please?
Her Mom:
Sure sweetheart. Just be home by 5 for dinner. And be safe. Love you!
I smiled at her and nodded, "Perfect. And, Ryan's not my boyfriend."
"He sounds like it,"

I opened the door of Ryan's car, tossing my backpack onto floor by my feet as I swung into the passenger seat. "Hey Gorgeous," He smiled at me as I closed the door. "And who's this beautiful girl?"
"That's Skylar. She's going to hang out with us, kay?"
"Kay," Ryan mocked my voice, making me slap his shoulder, and Skylar giggle.
"Do you go here?" Skylar asked, "I mean, to our school?"
"Nope, I go to some lame private school. My dad's annoying." Ryan laughed.
"Then how'd you two meet?" Skylar wondered, unfortunately for me, out loud.
"Uh, Ryan's dad's my therapist."
"I see,"
"Yep."
And that was it. I had a real friend, and I had Ryan, and the rest of the day was a lot of fun. Ryan and I drove Skylar home by five, just like her mom wanted, and then Ryan drove extra slow back to my house, minimizing the amount of time I needed to spend there.
Ryan's dad had been really great, and he told my mom that he needed me for extra time after school until 6, and then at 8, after dinner and homework, I was needed again. And she bought it. Idiot. But, I was happy spending so much time with Ryan and his family. It wasn't awkward at all around his dad. It was comfortable. It was safe. It was happy.♥
