Prologue
Allow me to tell you a story…
Long, long ago, in a beautiful and mystic land, galaxies away from here- okay, well, not all that long ago, and actually not really far either. But it was a beautiful and mystic land.
This is my story. Sort of. It’s actually my best friend’s, but it’s so amazingly special and fantastical, I couldn’t keep it to myself, and received her permission to share it. As I open a curtain into my life, and that of Kayla and her family, I ask that you search for the meaning behind the adventures, and for the source from which we draw the strength to push through till the end.
My retelling of these events begins just over a year ago, with Kayla and her family driving from their new farm in southern Saskatchewan, to their former home in western central Alberta. Don’t forget about me in the midst of the excitement, since you won’t hear about me for quite some time.
Oh! Maybe I should tell you who I am, eh? Well my name is Jenni. Jennifer Hindes. There’s nothing special to me, I’m no rockstar, no princess in disguise, I’m not even a straight A student. I’m just your average teenage farm girl, with common sense, and a love of fun. But anyways, back to my story. I was speaking of Kayla Innes and her family…
