Okay, so I know this isn't the most exciting fantasy story in the world, but feedback would be greatly apreciated :)

Chapter 3
The next morning Kayla woke with a start to loud banging on her door. “Jason! Go away and leave me alone!” After so many years of being woken this way, she no longer needed to ask who it was, it seemed each member of her family pounded on doors differently.
“It’s time to get up, Mom says. Breakfast is ready.” Yep, sure enough it was Jason’s voice that answered her.
Kayla moaned and flipped her legs over the edge of the bed to sit up, it felt like she had hardly fallen asleep. The night before she had thought over, and over her parent’s story, it had answered a lot of questions, but it had also risen more. Questions about portals and dimensions, how on earth they worked, and…well, Kayla knew that the family had left Rocky Mountain House because her parents were afraid of staying in one place too long. Was Milros out to get them or something? And if so, why? He had let Pralor and Hanala live, why should he want to chase them down? And Aunt Susan, a princess? Kay giggled at the picture. But then again...it wasn’t really so shocking, when she thought about it, she could easily see picture Aunty Susan as Princess Shasun.
“Kayla!” came a persistent call from the kitchen.
“Coming Mom!” scrambling up, Kayla reached for a pair of jeans, and a t-shirt, then glanced in the mirror with a groan. “I hate brushing this hair.” She mumbled, and jerked her brush through it hastily. It hurt as the brush yanked at the tangled curls, but it had to be done, and the faster the better. Snatching a head band, Kayla raced towards the kitchen- and the delicious smell of bacon.
“Hey sleepy head, ‘bout time you got up.” Terry grinned at her.
“Did you sleep last night?”she challenged back, slightly annoyed. Kayla wasn’t known for being patient, especially when woken up by one of her brothers.
“Nope, not much” he shook his head, “too much thinking to do. Here,” he handed her a stack of plates, “Set the table. Oh, and Dad wants to practice fencing with us all later.”
Kayla sighed, “Do you suppose he’ll let me practice archery instead?”
“Instead? Nope, but he might let you do both.”
She made a face, “I don’t like fencing!”
Terry laughed, “Well I guess I understand Dad’s desire for us all to know it now, and I have to say, it does make it more interesting. Kayla, imagine how different our lives would be if Milros hadn’t won!”
“He didn’t really win, Dad was right, he won’t be able to rule, God will put someone else there.”
“You know what I mean. Imagine if we had been born there, in the castle!” Terry sounded excited.
“Well we weren’t, and I can’t particularly say I wish we were, because I like life this way.”
“This way? This way as in normal teenagers, or as in nobody really knowing who we are?”
Kayla looked down, “I-I wish we didn’t have so many secrets, but…being a princess would be kind of scary, there’s so much responsibility, I wouldn’t know how to learn to rule a nation. I know that would be your job as eldest son and all, but I don’t care.” Neither bothered to think about everyone else moving around the house, or the fact that Claire and Thomas could easily hear them, but no one was paying them any mind anyways.
Terry nodded, “You’re right I guess, but it’s a learnable thing. Anyhow, we better hurry.”
“Learnable?” Kayla shook her head doubtfully, but her brother was already gone, talking easily with his friend. Kayla smiled slightly, Thomas and Terry were pretty much inseparable, it was amazing that they had survived two years apart from one another. But then, Terry had had Jenni. Kayla’s grin widened as she tried not to laugh, wondering if Thomas had also found someone.
