(Chapter 2)(strange ways)

(Topanga's p.o.v)

Brantley hurried over to me as I was getting things out of my locker. "Topanga guess what, my mom said it was cool if you came over for dinner." I say. "Just me or my parents too?" I asked. I really hoped he said just me.. My parents liked staying home and being to themselves, they didn't like new people much. "Uh just you, is that okay?" He asked. "Yeah, that'll be great, I'll just ride the bus home today and get off at your house." I say. I normally walked home in the afternoons. "Yeah maybe we can do homework together". I say. "Yeah, that's good cause I'm horrible at math problems". He says.
"Well I can help". I say.

I was on the bus and some kids teased me. "So hippie I saw how you used your channeling powers to answer that math question in class." One kid said.
"Yeah but she answered it right, don't tease her just cause she's smart and your dumb". Brantley snapped. "Brantley putting them down is not satisfying, when you already know there wrong, they know there wrong too""they don't phase me". I say proudly. "Brantley Gilbert likes the weird girl!" Another boy says. "How immature". I say. I looked out the window. The teasing kids are finally off the bus and at their homes. "Are you okay Topanga?" Brantley asked. "I'm fine, thank you". I say. "What they say doesn't bother me". I say.

I got off the bus with Brantley. "Aw you've got a dog". I say, as the dog ran to us. "Yeah, his names Remington". Brantley says. "He's a Labrador". I say. I petted the dogs head and scratched him behind the ears.

We went inside and a woman whose looks resembled Brantley's; stood in the kitchen. She was cooking. "Mom, this is Topanga". Brantley says. "Topanga, that's my mom". He says to me. "Hi, I've heard so much about you dear". She said. "I'd believe that he's talked well of me". I say. "Well I gotta do homework mom". Brantley says. "Come on Topanga". He says.

We went up the steps where his bedroom was. I liked his room, it was nice.
We put our backpacks on his bed. We started on math homework.
