Light immediately turned on the TV and switched to the news channel. Luckily, the news anchorwas just starting to report a criminal called Emma Radcliffe, who had murdered one and wounded many children at a daycare shooting. As soon as the picture had appeared on the screen, Light quickly lifted his finger and wrote her name. He waited 40 seconds.
After those 40 seconds, the news stopped for a minute before starting again.
"This just in, Emma Radcliffe has been pronounced dead!" The news anchor looked surprised. "I- it was only half a minute ago we were talking about her a- and this happened... is this coincidence?" she continued. Light smiled and picked his iDeath Pad up. "This thing doesn't come with a Shinigami... strange..."
As soon as Light pressed the home button, a notice appeared that said,
"Hello, new user, would you like the ability of Shinigami vision?"
Light tapped on the "Yes." button and the iDeath Pad started loading something.
"Vision transfer 25%... 64%... 81%... 100% Complete." After Light had finished reading the word "completed", he got onto his phone and searched up pictures of Gerard Way. They all had his name and remaining lifespan.
"Nice..."
Light once again picked the iDeath Pad up and started adding many new names to the list.
