~Chapter 1~

I was leaving Starbucks and was just about to get to my house when I noticed someone behind me. Creeped out, I just kept walking and reached the steps of my house, trying to find my keys. Being the klutz I am, I dropped them. As I bent down to pick them up, I heard a quiet, raspy whisper, "are you looking for these love?" I turned to face the same boy who was behind me a minute ago.

"N-no, I mean yea. Those are mine." I replied nervously.

"Would you like them back darling?" he asked as I felt his warm breath whispering right into my ear.

"Y-yes, yes please." I said, coming out not as confidently as I had hoped.

"Ok, babe. But first," he said as he put the keys in his back pocket,"I'll need a little kiss from you." he replied with a smirk.

"No." I replied, this time with more confidence than before. There was no way I was gonna kiss this boy! I barely knew him and, beyond all, he was creepy!

"Then I guess you won't be getting these back." he said, dangling the keys in front of my face. My first instinct was to grab them, but as I lifted up my hand he caught it.

"No, no, silly girl. I told you, the only way you'd get these back was from a kiss from your beautiful lips." he told me.

He came closer to me and I had backed up far enough that I hit the front door. 'Great,' I thought sarcastically. He leaned in closer, but not close enough to kiss me. His lips barely touched mine, as he whispered, "you know, love, I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want a little kiss. Is that too much to ask?"

I tensed up when his hands held mine back. I tried avoiding eye contact, but that didn't work because he used one hand to life my chin to his face. I stared into his blue eyes. They looked dull, like something was missing. I don't know if it was hurt, or maybe sadness. But I know he probably

just needed someone to fix him from whatever broke him before. As I looked into his eyes I noticed more and more how much he did need someone, and I realized, that person was me.
