It was a crisp leaf-fall morning. The clouds of the Great Storm had finally drifted away, and the warm sun filtered through the the changing leaves of the willows.
Thunderkit, Windkit, and Lightingkit sat in the clearing. It had been four moons since the three siblings were given their powers and they were eager to use them.
"All cats old enough to climb the Great Willow gather beneath the Long Branch for a clan meeting!" Fallenstar yowled.
Thunderkit squealed with joy and nearly jumped out of her fur with excitement.
"Today, three kits are ready to be made apprentice's" Fallenstar yowled clearly.
"Thunderkit, Windkit, Lightingkit. Step forward." Fallenstar meowed.
The three siblings stepped forward, and they were both nervous and excited.
"Lightingkit, from this day forward, until you earn your warrior name, your name shall be Lightningpaw, and your mentor shall be Wildgaze. May he teach you his skill and bravery."
Lightningpaw's eyes lit with joy at Fallenstar's choice of mentor for her. She touched noses with Wildgaze and stepped back to watch her siblings.
"Windkit, step forward." Fallenstar meowed. "From this day forward, until you earn your warrior name, your name shall be Windpaw, and your mentor shall be Rosehawk. May she pass down her loyalty and intelligence."
A wide grin spread across Windpaw's muzzle as he touched noses with his new mentor. He gazed into her deep amber eyes, before settling down next to Lightningpaw and Wildgaze.
"Now, Thunderkit, step forward." Fallenstar meowed firmly.
Thunderkit padded forward and stared up at Fallenstar. This is it. The moment I've been wanting for my whole life! She thought.
"Thunderkit, from this day forward, until you earn your warrior name, your name shall be Thunderpaw. And your mentor, shall be me."
Thunderpaw's eyes glittered and shined as she twirled around. The leader's apprentice! What an honor! she thought.
"Now rise as new apprentices of Willowclan!" Fallenstar yowled.
"Lightningpaw! Windpaw! Thunderpaw! Lightningpaw! Thunderpaw!" the clan cheered.
The three new apprentices lifted their heads and looked at each other.
"We did it! We're apprentices!" Thunderpaw cheered. "Nothing will stop us now!"
