Senseless

He didn't know what was happening.

He couldn't open his eyes.

He felt like his voice could not come out.

He couldn't even move.

All he could do was hear, hear the desperate cries for him.. Just for him.

He could feel his wife, sons hands..

He did not feel his grand daughters hand.. Which confused him..

Why wasn't she there.. Did she not care?

He could sense something was wrong.

He heard voices.

Strange voices..Ones he did not recognize..

The strange voices took him.. Put him in some sort of vehicle.

The vehicle smelt clean, like bleach clean.

He didn't want to leave his wife and sons voices..

He wanted to hear his granddaughter, she was not there..

He wanted to cry, do something with his self.

He couldn't.

All he could do was think now.

The vehicle stopped, the strange voices took him to this place. It was cold.

He was placed on this hard, cold table.

He heard his old friend..

His friend which worked as a mortician..

He wondered why he was there with his old friend.

His friend poked him with this sharp thing.

He didn't know why he had done that to him.

He felt like something was being took out of him, like he was being drained..

After that he felt his friends tears on him..

He didn't understand..

What would happen now..

They dressed him, which he thought was odd..

He could feel a soft, well-ironed fabric on him.

He felt stuffed. Not like the food kind of stuffed. But the stuffed teddy bears or something dead would feel like..

He heard a crowd of people..

He heard his wife, sons, brothers, sisters, friends.. His grand daughter...

He heard her crying..

He wanted to hug her, he didn't know what was wrong. He just wanted to make her happy again..

He tried to talk to her, comfort her, he just wanted to hug her..

She sobbed, sounding muffled. Like something was holding her..

He heard her cries grow fainter..

He felt a soft, wrinkly hand.. He knew that voice..

His wife..

He heard her soft voice say, "I'll miss you.."

Why was she going to miss him?

Was he going somewhere?

All the voices but his sons were gone..

He felt like he was being lifted.

He heard a door slam..

After a few hours of trying to speak. He gave up..

The vehicle stopped..

He felt the lifting again..

This time when he was put down he heard a large thud. He felt like he was dropped..

He heard the sobs once again, the prayers..

"He will be missed."

That was it.

He yelled, he cried, he wanted to get out of that cramped space..

Nothing came out..

He was stuck.

He gave up. The voices grew more and more distant as he heard the sound of things like crumbs fall on top of him..

He knew now what was happening to him..

He was going to be there, stuck inside his body, forever..
