Mask (pt 2)

Amy laid happily in the bed asleep as I looked at the clock, 9:36.

"Well it looks like I still have some time to go screw around in the city before lunch time." I say as I grab my black overcoat and put it on.

I noticed a bent knife handle and I took it out. I set it on the table and looked for a replacement. I grabbed it and looked it over. I looked at the black steel finish on it, and the double edge sharpness. My hand traced down the blade and I didn't feel any noticeable nicks in it. I moved my hand down behind the patted hand grip. I felt it conform to my hand, then I opened my coat up and put it in the top left holster where the original blade was. I grabbed my non cut mask and put it on. I laid the other one on Amy's shoulder and smiled as I walked to the balcony. I jumped and glided around the city looking for some action. I stopped on a rooftop and sat on the edge and sighed.

"Another bland day at work I guess."

I looked around and see nothing but a bland rooftop so I drop down off the side of the building. I used the grapple hook so I don't hit the ground. I started to walk around in the alleyways. All is silent.

"Where are all the bad guys! I can't be a vigilante if I have no one to fight!" I muttered as I walked through crowds. I got some odd stares but some people don't seem to care.

"AAHH!!"

I heard a scream and looked in the general area of it. I saw a young lady shaking on the ground curled up into a ball with red coming from her stomach. I looked up farther and saw a man with a bloody knife.

I ran up to the woman and pulled out my knife in retaliation to the man.

"The hell is going on here?" I asked and the man grinned at me.

"She wanted to cheat on me, so I made sure that no one could take her but me!" The crazed man said.

 He put his knife to his throat and started to pull it across his neck. I jumped up and grabbed it with one hand. I pushes his head way with the other as blood starts to spray out of one end of his neck. People scream in terror and some run with there childern's eye covered, all goes red as my mask is covered with blood and it drips over the eye hole slots, and I push the man to a wall and push his head down hoping it will at least press his skin on the cut and stop the blood loss just a bit. I fumble with my phone in my pocket and calls 911, "Hello we have a couple one stabbed in the stomach and another throats slit we need a ambulance right now!" I didn't give the operator time to respond as I keep the phone on in my pocket and i hear a voice ring in my ears. "You cant take both of them Yin your arm is still bad the last thing we need is for it to break on you, just take the girl for now shes the victim you can guide the ambulance to the attacker." Yang said in my ear and I looked at both of them. "But.........." I say as he butts in, "No butts! You should worry about the person who is attacked not the one who can cause more attacks." I stop and think for a second and then runs with her in my arms.

"This feels bad but i'm sure your right Yang." I say as I run down the street hoping to save time by running to the Ambulance as I run I feel and hear something whizzing by my head. "Hm?" I said then I look behind me and see the bloody attacker holding his neck and has a gun shakily pointed at me. I put the girl down gently and walk his way and he shoots at me and I pull out my knife and reflect the bullet away and I feel the vibration of it in my hand. "You sure don't give up easily do you?" I ask as I quickly run after him and dodges his shots as he fires and then runs out and the slide goes back as I grab his arm and twist it behind him and hit him in the neck with the blunt end of my knife knocking him out. I run over to the girl and pick her up and keep running til I get stopped by the ambulance and I hand them the girl and guide them to the exact location of the attacker. "............. hes gone........." I say as I turn off my phone and looks at the blood pool on the ground. I follow the blood trail and it ends near a wall and look up. "I don't think that he climbed that." I say and I get a tap on my shoulder and I turn around to see a young cop with a white shirt on, a blue tie and jet black dress pants on and a badge hanging from his neck on a black string. "Look this is our crime scene we are grateful that you helped and all that but we don't need you to tamper with evidence so you can buzz off now."

He says and I scuff and then refuse medical help and return home, Amy jumps looking at me as her eyes widen more then normal upon my return. "What the hell happened! Where did all that blood come from Proton!" She exclaims shaking some, I take off my bloody overcoat and mask and hangs them both over a plastic bowl. "Long story short craziness happened, and all that blood is from the crazy." I say as I wipe some blood off of me that got through my mask and onto my skin and toss the bloody napkin away. "And yet he still manged to live, escape and maybe even climb a wall, that's crazy." I exclaim as I stand up and sits next to her on the bed and she scoots away a bit and slowly nods, "Y-ya c-crazy, c-can you get rid of a-all that b-blood on you?" She asks scarily and i Look down and sees how much bloody actually got onto me and my clothes and I nod as I stand and walk to the bathroom. "Be back soon babe." I say as I wave and start up the shower. Amy grabs my mask on the bed I layed on her that fell onto the bed and traces her hand along the middle of the Yin Yang symbol that makes up the entire mask and then she traces the outline of the mask and waits for my return to her side by playing with the mask.
