A big shout-out to my brother Camron for helping me wid dis crazy stuffs, and also to my boyfriend and Raphael_Lover2001 for being there for me everyday in my hard times. Anywho let's start this story! We are humanity's last hope! HAHAHAHA!
Technis' POV
I want to get out of this god-forsaken city. Gremm, my home, is a living nightmare, surrounded by freaks. People here may say I'm a twisted freak, but that's because I'm different. Exceedingly different, you might say. I'm a warrior with special abilities. My most favorite attribute is my wings; dark, cloud-like wings with bright neon light running through them. The colors represent my mood. Even though I'm the only one in my city with these unpredictable and unusual capabilities, I do know that there are people in Torchia, Elwood, Mazran, the Outerlands, and the corrupted city Mameyoko. I'm determined to find them, but news has spread like the blazes of Torchia that an Outerlander has crossed the borders and is making his way to Gremm. I shrug it off like a fly, for it doesn't matter to me. As I walk through the dirty streets of Gremm, everyone tries to talk to me about this renegade outsider.
"Technis, what do you think about this rebel? He's going to get us all killed!" One said.
"Technis, Shray's going to find out that we're harboring an outsider! What do we do?" another inquired. I'm tired of this. Everyone in Gremm comes to me for help, even our ruler. Maybe it's because I'm the smartest one here, or maybe it's because they're too indolent to find their own answers.
"Just let me handle this! I will clear everything up, and Shray will never know," I yelled to the crowd, making them disperse like pigeons being chased by a dog. I ran to the fence surrounding our city, and crawled through a splintering hole I had made. I'm a rebel, so whatever new law Shray dictates, I break it with the utmost happiness. Now to find this Outerlander.
Jestis's POV
It's all over Mazran. A young Outerlands droid has crossed the border. Someone actually has the guts to defy our 'ruler.' I applaud this boy. I flew over the tediously half-lit city, my radiant white wings casting a gut-wrenching shadow over the people. The Mazranites pay little to no attention to the shadow, for my dwelling was prophesied by the chief ruler of our city; under Shray, that is. As I touched down, I was approached my mother, Jayna.
"Hello, Jestis. Enjoy your flight?" She hugged me close like a warm cloak.
"Yes, I did, Mother. Have you heard the news?" I replied. She nodded and fixed my grey trench coat's collar. She led me home, and I tucked my wings in, turning them back into the realistic tattoo I had on my back. The tattoo was how I enclosed and revealed my wings. I remember the day I learned that I had them. I was four years old, and I was outside on my luscious grass lawn, jumping on a trampoline. The next time I jumped, I never touched the trampoline again. I looked around, and seeing how high I was, I panicked and called out for my mother. My father was working, so Mother dashed out to me, observing my predicament. She told me that this was prophesied, and that five other children exactly my age had just realized theirs as well, at this exact same moment. Since then, I have embraced my indifference, and used my abilities for the better of the city. Until Shray rose to power. I shook the thought aside and retreated with Mother from the sweltering near-evening heat into our house.
"So, Jestis, I have great news for you; today your father is coming home from service!" Mother exclaimed with the energy of a puppy. My father was named Julius. He used to work at a military base until they put him in service. He has been gone for ten years; ever since I was seven years old. And hearing that today he was finally going to come home made me excited. He never knew of my doings, and most of the boys in Mazran grew to be thugs without a father. Now I could show him. As if on cue, Father walked through the door.
