11 years later

It was the last day I would walk to middle school. Next year I would go to American High School. I had succeeded in keeping my cyborg identity a secret. I just hoped that the surgeons kept their side of the contract. I thought about this each day for the past 11 years. I know I worry way to much. Oh, well. So far my worrying was for nothing, but you never know when life will surprise you.

Life was good. I was student council president, I had an 100% average for all classes, and most boys swooned over me. I never got a boyfriend, but I knew that Josh Niccleman was going to ask me out over the summer. You could say I had everything I wanted. I was happy with my life. I didn't want it to change.

I was at my house provided by the government, watching the news. I had decided that I should stop watching videos in my head because people thought that I was having seizures. I looked back at the TV and saw the headlines and a video of one of the doctors who treated me walking out of a hospital with news cameras following him around asking him questions. "Oh, this will be interesting," I thought. I read the headline. "Surgeon reveals secret from 11 years ago about a dangerous patient." Oh, lord. That's when I was in the hospital. I started freaking out.

I heard a knock on the door. "Who is it?" I shouted. "Pizza Delivery!" That's funny. I didn't order a pizza. I don't even eat. I put the fillers in between my face plates and answered the door. There was a guy with a microphone and a camera standing in the doorway. He turned on the camera and said, "Say hi to YouTube." He grabbed me in a hug. I grabbed his camera and smashed it with my right hand. I glared at him and held my fist up with the crumpling camera as if I was going to punch him. He looked scared and then ran away screaming like a baby.

I looked down the street. I saw news cars coming. I stepped into the house and locked the door with 3 different locks. I then locked the back door with the same amount of locks and then deadbolt red my garage door. No one was getting in my house. It was going to be like a bomb shelter. (It can actually stand atomic bombs.)

I heard someone at the door with a peppy southern accent, "If anyone is in there, please come out." I wasn't going to go out so I checked and made sure that all the lights were out before turning on my silent mode. "Is anyone home?" The peppy lady sounded uncertain.

I waited for a long time just standing there. (I can't move with silent mode on.) She eventually left...
with my sanity. I turned of silent mode and scanned for heat signals. There weren't enough for a person to be outside.

I checked all the locks again and also pulled down the hurricane shutters that I had. I lived nowhere close to the coast but I had them installed just in case. You never know what kind of situation you'll get in.

Then, there was another knock on my door. "Fox New team. If anyone is home please come to the door." This new man had one of those voices where they emphasize certain words to make it sound interesting. He said it like, "Fox News team. Please... Come to the door."
I recorded his voice. It was just so funny. You would think that he wouldn't use that voice out of the station.

I listened to it again. Then I realized "Oh, lord" my speakers were on.
"We know you're in there. We can here you." He sounded embarrassed. He still used the funny voice.

I slowly walked to the door. I didn't open it. He finally rang the doorbell. When it was done I said in a very cheerful voice that was slightly scratchy, "I'm sorry, but if I have not answered the door I am most likely not home. Unless you are Jack Hamel. In that case I am ignoring you because I don't like you. Please come back later, and hopefully I will be home." I thought it sounded pretty good, so I was confident.

Then, I saw all of the locks on my door open as if it were magic and a SWAT team burst through my door. Now, I wasn't so confident.
