"Please," a wolgan whimpered in a sympathetic voice, up towards a royal wolgan who stood before her, an unamused expression on his face. "At least take this egg..." she offered an oval shaped object up to him, her eyes glistening with tears. "Please keep it safe..."

He shook his head with a triumphant cackle, and glared down into her desperate eyes. "You've betrayed us so many times, young one, I refuse your offer, now leave with your offspring, take it somewhere else." He roared, and gestured his talon towards the entrance.

She sniffled, her feathers crusted with dry blood, and a faint expression of agony upon her still face. She then slowly backed away from him, gazing up into his eyes, which were eerily still, as if he were analyzing every move she made.

"P-please... I beg of you." She howled in one last attempt, raising her talons into the air, cupping the egg in her talons. He shook his head, a sly smirk awakening from his mouth. "You are now forsaken from this faction, leave now." He hissed through clenched teeth, and she nodded in defeat.

She quivered, and took one last glance at the wolgan who gave her a satisfying glare, before wheeling around to face the entrance, his tail snaking behind him. He was barely able to fit through the doorway as he walked, he was fairly large.

"I'm so sorry..." she whispered down to her unhatched offspring, stroking the shell empathetically, as she felt her heart sink down into her stomach. This couldn't be happening, she wouldn't accept it. All she wanted was somewhere to live, and mistakes happened... they just couldn't understand that.

Flint, her mate, had attempted to murder her, and she had no other choice than to fight back, and almost kill him. The other option would have been to die, and she refused to leave her hatchling alone with that monster of a wolgan.

She gulped, and dragged her tail out of the castle with a defeated snort, before kicking a few rocks away and heading out the door with her egg. The shell gleamed brightly in the rays of moonlight, and she scuttled away as quick as possible before being spotted, they wouldn't have any mercy towards her now, and would kill her on sight.

This dragon's name was Diamond; now banished from her faction, having no family, nothing to look forward to, and worse of all, she had to raise a hatchling by herself. Staring down at the dark green object, she couldn't let it die, there was something inside of her that resisted choosing to smash her future offspring and be done with it.

I guess it's just my motherly instincts, she said to herself, whilst kicking another rock out of the way as she went out of the faction home, taking one last glance of everything she ever knew.

This was a whole new start, and she was going into the unknown, carrying another with her, and its life hadn't even began. Hopefully, everything would turn out okay.

Diamond pulled herself through the forest, hearing the faint howls of coyotes ringing through her ears like bells. These were usual noises, as the hive had many wild coyotes who occasionally attempted to sneak in and steal the wolgan eggs, who sometimes weren't guarded.

She didn't quite know why she didn't leave her egg within the nursery, but whatever stopped her was a miracle, as it had burned down from an attack right after she had the egg. It was quite strange, as every decision she made with her offspring was already decided, and she felt as if she had no other option but to pick the one that seemed oddly correct to her.

Everything had turned out alright so far, and she was hoping that her luck continued, and that her hatchling would live to see its first day, and would continue to stride through life. She wanted the best for her offspring, as that was the only thing she had left.
