The sun slowly crept its way into the room.   Birds chirping fill the air as a breeze softly made it's way in, cooling the otherwise murky room.   A soft exhale came from the sleeping woman on the bed.   She wore only a sheet,  covering her from view.

Schuyler looked at the woman sleeping in his bed.  She looked like his bride in some ways.  She still possessed the long platinum blond hair,   her porcelain doll skin had elegant patches of golden scales. They resembled more like Henna patterns.  There was a small patch on her forehead,  tracing her neck as if she wore a fancy collar.  On her forearms delicate patches of the sames scales to form bracelets,   same as around her ankles.   They traced her spine from midway to a golden colored tail.   That just added to the small delicate golden colored horns protruding from the sides of her head.

Truth be told,  that woman was breathtaking.   He had gotten up in the mid of the night only to see her.  He was fully dressed and waited for her to wake up. He just folded his arms over his chest when he saw her stir from her slumber.

"Morning my love..."  She said after covering a yawn.   She sat up on the bed,   holding the sheet to keep herself covered for the most part.  Her eyes were still the enchanting blue,   he could find himself getting lost in.

She frowned when he looked away.  "Whats wrong..."  She began to asked only to stop upon seeing her scales on her ankles.   Her heart went heavy at the sight,  she closed her eyes hoping it was just a dream but when she opened them, the scales where is still there.

She couldn't find the words to say.   It was him who broke the silence.  "Saria..."   For once he seemed to be having trouble speaking,   his mind was trying to comprehend the situation.   "Are those scales, horns and a tail?"   He finally managed to ask her.

She nodded gently in reply.  "I'm sorry.  I never meant for this."   She told him softly.  She looked at him with sadden eyes.   "I'm not from this realm,  my job was to return a Star Globe and to stop the crossing over from ours worlds.   I had placed a spell over myself to appear as human."   She looked at the corner of the sheet she now tugged at.

He just stood there,  watching her as he listened.  Nothing but questions flooded his mind.  "I have to go to class..."  He said suddenly before leaving the room.  She sighed softly,  she was unsure of what to do.

She slipped out of bed,  cleaned herself and got dressed in her original garments.   She decided to give him some space and skip classes.  After cleaning the whole place,  Saria left after making a picnic basket.   People looked at her oddly as made her way to her husband's office.  She came to a stop outside of his classroom,  she took a deep breath.  She had done remarkable things in her lifetime yet very few times had she been this scared.  She paced back and forth in the hallway trying to gather her courage.   She slowly came to a stop.  Looking at the doors,   she slowly reached for the handles before going inside.

She set the basket down on this desk.  "Let me explain myself,  please."   Her eyes made contact with his as she spoke.   He was surprised she didn't recast the spell to make her appear as everyone else.   "I'm still the woman you married,  I just hid my race."   She told him softly.  "Please just have dinner with me,   I'll tell you everything you want."  She wanted him to agree and he did.

They never left the classroom as she explained the story to him.   From time to time they had to deal with students,  most of them gawking at Saria the whole time.  It was late as she finished the whole story and once more the awkward silence fell upon them.  She sat on the corner of the desk facing the floor with her eyes closed,   waiting for anything.   She wouldn't blame him if he told her to leave.  She did withhold very important information about herself.

She could hear him move from his chair walking over to her.  Her eyes opened in surprise as she let out a small gasp from shock.  She looked at him as he barely touch her left horn with his hand.  She stay quiet as he touched the scales on her neck next.  Her eyes lingered on his the whole time.

He gently took her left hand in his,   tracing the scales on her forearm with the other.  They were very beautiful golden scales.  He looked at her plainly before speaking.  "Are they hard?"
She just blinked for a second.   "They're just like a dragon's,   nearly impenetrable."  She answered confused.

"Does it hurt if you lose one?"   He was quizzing her on race and she could understand.  "I only lose one if it's pulled off,   even then it just stings badly." She just looked at his hands has he played with her scales.  She could feel his touch on them but nothing else.   "Well, I'm sorry.  It actually depends on the scale."  She moved her shirt's collar down slightly.  "The ones closer to my heart are thicker and hurt greatly."   He just looked at the scales she showed him,   his look never changing.

"Are...  are you related to the Dragon of Time,  your race?" She just looked back at him.  She had forgot they had a dragon.  She shook her head softly.  "No.   We're an ancient race fathered by a primal creature."   She explained to him softly.   "Is this a secondary form?"  He set her hand down after he asked her the question.  "No, it is my true form."  She told him weakly.  Her heart was tugging in her chest,  she had a bad feeling.

Silence filled the room once more,   something that seemed to be common today.   "What else are you hiding from me?"  She inhaled deeply at his question but instantly shook her head.   "Nothing,   I swear."   Her eyes threaten with tears as she spoke to him.   "I don't believe that."  Needles shot through her heart at his words but she understood why.

"Why did you even get involved with me if you would hide things from me?  Saria is this just a joke to you,  is that all I am?"   He asked her seriously.   "No, I really love you.   I'm sorry I couldn't tell you."   The look on his face told her he didn't believe her.  The tears made their way from her blue eyes as he just left the room.  It felt like pieces of her heart was being ripped off as she watched him leave.
