As we were walking to the store I tried to make small conversation.

"So, tell me about yourself." , I said.

"Well, I play football. You play any sports?" He responded.

"No, sports aren't really my thing." I said.

"Oh, well um, my parents are divorced, so I'm staying with my mom." He informed. "What's your story?"

"Well uh, my mother died in a house fire when I was six, we moved here after that and my dad hasn't really um.. Been the same." I said looking away.

"I'm so sorry for your loss." , he said.

"Oh, It's fine." , I responded.

What do you mean?" He asked. "About your father?"

But I dodged the question as we walked into the store. I tried to make it as quick as possible, so I grabbed the things I needed and got into line. He found me in line and offered to pay for my things.

"No, I got it. Thanks for offering though." , I said.

"Yeah, no problem." He responded.

Then we walked back to my house. He walked me up to the porch.

"Well, It was nice meeting you." ,He said.

"You too." , I responded.

But before I walked into the house, he stopped me.

"Hey, um would you like to maybe hang out sometimes?" , he asked.

"Yeah!" I blurted out. "I would love to."

"Great, I'll call you later then." He said smiling.

"You should probably get my number first huh.." , I said smiling.

"That would make sense." , he said blushing.

I ran over to him and put my number into his phone. I smiled at him one more time before I walked into the house.

When I walked in the house my dad still wasn't home, good. So I put the groceries in the fridge and went to the living room, sat on the couch and turned on the TV. After watching TV for a while I started to drift off to sleep, thinking about Dylan..
