Chapter 1
Hi.My name is Adiane Lyon Smith, but people call me Ada.I'm 16.I'm actually very distinctive.I have jet black hair and reddish-black eyes.I normally wear a jacket, even when it's summer,a pair of black skinny jeans, and a pair of combat boots.Well, lets start out on a normal day of my life.Lets start on the day day before it happened.I walked to school, like I did everyday, and ran into my best-friend Alissa. We talked and laughed together for awhile. When we got to the front doors we parted and went to our classes. My first period class was Language. We had 10 periods in the school day.We stayed there until it was time to go to our dorms. That was about 7:00.I know what your thinking. You're thinking, 'well what the crap do they do all day'.Well we do sword training, horse riding, archery, and other things like that.Oh that's right!I didn't tell you!We live in a post-apocalyptic world. We need battle training to defend ourselves. It's a necessity.Well anyways,I just got through the day when Aryn came up to me.She's my worst enemy. She's a prep.
" Hey Goth! How you doing?Oh right.Depressed,"she said as she giggled.
" I do have a name,Twitchy and no actually, I was feeling pretty happy until you came along. What do you want?"I call her Twitchy because every time she walks she twitches her hips back and forth.
"My name isn't 'Twitchy'.Well Goth, you have to do something for me.You're stupidly smart and I have a paper due, but I have to go to a party tonight, so you do it.,"she said as she shoved a book at me.I shoved it back harder.
"No.You do your own work.I'm not going to be pushed around by you or anyone else for that matter. You can just go run along."
"Excuse me?You don't make the rules Goth.I do.Now you better get to it."She's as stupid as ever.Well I didn't do her paper that night and i should tell you why.I went into my room, which I think was the best one because it had a balcony, and got ready to go to sleep.I brushed my teeth, took a shower, the works, but something happened after I came onto the balcony to see the stars...
