"Is the way to the room 08?" Joseph Baldever asked the nice young lady at the stall. He was all ready for his first day in school, wondering what it would be like a young freshman, quietly sitting on his preferred armchair, listening to the teacher's majestic words being spoken. It wasn't really that simple, having to be a freshman. It was always a burden to talk to new classmates as he was a loner, a child loner - Can you believe that? He didn't have any friends before, but decided to take the risk and join a clique, a club or any kind of special organization he might like to be in.

"Yes, just go up the stairs and go to the first door on the right." the nice young lady gestured and pointed to the specific direction. The lights started as the lady turned them on and went inside the stall near her. Joseph climbed up the stairs glancing at every part of the wall trying to imagine what it would be like seeing new people. As he kept on walking, he sees the room at the distance. He continued his stroll and opened the creaking door. He saw the people inside - his classmates, all in their preferred seats with their bags either on their back, on the floor or at the side. Some of them were click-clacking their pens up and down waiting for the first teacher to arrive. Joseph sat on the first seat in front of the teacher's table - a wrong choice is you ask me, but he prefers to sit there so he can hear the lesson better. He opened up his bag seeing a small clean notebook and a half-filled black pen inside. he took them out and carefully paced them on his desk as he too waited for the teacher.

"Math?" He looked at his schedule as he was looking a bit puzzled to see Math them English then Physics, but he sees himself as confident so he doesn't care about the subjects and keeps on waiting for the respective instructors. First came Miss Blanket - Kind of a weird name, but that's the name, the Math teacher, about 5'4" in height, and a little bit fat, but who cares as she starts introducing herself. "Mr. Baldever?" Miss Blanket shouted to check for the attendance as she sees me raising my hind for acknowledgement. Holding down the pen to write me as PRESENT, she focused on the paper. I was stunned to see no one what surnamed starting with a letter A in the class as I was first to be called out.

There were about 34 students in the class, the much enough people to be out with a certain injury or disclaimer. Joseph was patient to stay in the room after three periods on first day lessons - Math, English, Physics. "After lunch, I'll go the Chemistry and Music." he exclaimed, cramming up his things in his bag as he picked it up and went out as the bell rang signalling it was lunchtime.

Still having no friends, he rushed to the cafeteria, hoping to know a new person everyday. lined up to order food as more than a hundred students and faculty members lining up for food as I have to catch up with Chemistry at 1 o'clock. It was about 12:49 and Joseph was three people away from the counter. He would be late if he had to eat more. Just then, a girl appeared and cut him off the line. She was wearing a pink plain T-shirt, a pair of jeans, sneakers and a grumpy smile on her face. "What are you looking at?" she said with an angry tone. Her eyes are turning red as she angers him even more. Joseph looks at his watch and exclaims as he is late. It was already 1:01 P.M. and he still hadn't eaten. With no time to waste, he jumped out the long line, and rushed back to the room. He accidentally tripped on a log that was just laying on the grass field he passed through. he hurt his knee, but it didn't stop him. He kept on running until he reached the room. The door was locked, maybe because the teacher in Chemistry doesn't tolerate tardy people so he locks the doors to keep them away. He stayed outside for almost 15 minutes, hungry and dissatisfied.

After a while, a girl came rushing up the stairs, too. It was the girl who removed Joseph from the line in the cafeteria. The girl looked at him again with a fierce look. It turned out she was late at the same class. "Hi, I'm Shiela Parker." the girl introduced herself to Joseph. "Ok. Well, I'm Joseph. Or you can just call me Joe." he answered back. "That doesn't mean we are supposed to be friends" She replied aggresively trying to reap out his emotions. They were stuck outside for the hour then the bell rings. The doors are opened and students come flying out their classrooms as they finish the period.

"Hello, Mr. Baldever and Ms. Parker." A guy behind Joe and Shiela spoke. It was Mr. Crust, the Chemistry teacher, and he might have noticed the two didn't attend his class. "Where were you two?" he added, giving both Joe and Shiela shivers as they look at each other trying to find a way to get out of the current situation. "Ummm..." Both cried in unison.
