When Sarah woke up, she was suffering from a big headache and she was trying to shake it off imitating her favorite dance 'the shuffle' by LMFAO. After she finished rubbing her eyes, she got out of bed; she noticed that the whole room was pitch- black. She started searching for the switch when a wet latex material tripped her up.
"Ah shit, my hand huh it stinks”. She said as she lifted her head to face the window, she saw a dark figure on the corner of her window.
“Who’s there” Sarah’s asked demanding an answer
But no one replied. She quickly stood up and found the switch, by the time she managed to turn around, the person was gone. Sarah stood there for 10 whole minutes trying to figure out what was going on, and then the solution came to her.
"This is all a dream, by the time I wake up, I will be in my bed sleeping next to mister poppy, this whole night-mare will be over.” Then she closed her eyes to fall asleep.
As the sun shone brighter her headache got worst, it was the day after her birthday and she could barely open her eyes.
BANG, BANG, BANG the house started shaking, “everyone get up, I think it’s an earthquake.” shouted out James. With no hesitation everyone managed to leave the house safely, Sarah had no trouble opening her eyes after that. The whole neighborhood was outside wondering what had happened; from everyone’s facial expression you could tell that they were really terrified. Sarah looked around to see if everyone was all-right. At that moment her phone started to vibrate.
“Hello.” Sarah answered
“Are you OK Sarah?” Asked Aspen
"Who is this?”
"This is Aspen”
"How did you get my phone number?”
“Don’t worry about that, I called to see if you were OK, since you did not call me yesterday I got kind of worried”
“Well if you should know, I’m not OK; my house nearly got destroyed because of this earthquake”
“I can see that”
“What do you mean, you can see that?”
“Well I am standing next door, try looking for me.” Sarah turned the phone off and started searching for Aspen. Sarah turned around till she was facing towards where Amber lived, and there she saw Aspen hiding behind the garbage trucks. Sarah ran toward Aspen, “What you doing hiding behind the garbage truck, get up” Sarah demanded like a true leader.
“No” shouted out Sarah, secretively
I don’t want the protectors to see me.”
"Fine lets go back to the café, we need to talk Aspen, you were right about everything but I still don’t trust you.” Said Sarah ending their conversation
Sarah opened the door to the passenger seat for aspen to enter; quickly Sarah ran half way around the car to the main sear of the car. After putting on the belt she started the engine.
As the journey to the café started Aspens face looked nervous and Sarah had spotted that.
"What’s wrong Aspen is there anything else you have not told me yet.” Sarah said with amusement but Aspens face was not amused.
"Sarah look, I need to tell you something but I can only tell you in the café, you have to promise not to get anger.”
Sarah’s heart was beating, fast, she thought that all the secrets were over but she was far from being right.Sarah didn’t want to say anything so she put all her concentration on her driving, they reached the café, Sarah and Aspen slowly got out of the BMW and entered the café. Sarah looked around the café, again it was empty, it was now beginning to feel like every time Sarah and aspen entered the café no one else wanted to go anywhere near the shop. Ignoring her thoughts, Sarah sat down on the edge of the room with Aspen. The room was filled with silence and you could tell that both Sarah and Aspen were not comfortable.
Sarah opened her mouth to speak but she thought of nothing to say. 5 minutes later Aspen finally broke the silence.
“Look, Sarah there is no easy way of saying this but I need to tell you.” Aspen said strictly.
“What is it” said Sarah frustrated.
“You have to move to Transylvania, there is a school there that will protect you.”
“Protect me from what, is someone out there to kill me or something.”
"Well, something like.” Answer Aspen.
“Your flight leave next week at 7 so do all you’re shopping and get ready to go by then.” Aspen stood up to leave when Sarah’s expiration, changed. Out of nowhere she started laughing out loud,
“You must be joking right, hahahah.” Sarah’s voice got louder and louder, then Sarah’s voice changed into laughs of anger and her eyes changed from dark blue to deep red.
“Who the hell are you to tell me to move, till you came, my life was fine but you had to come and ruin it.” Sarah shouted out in a deep voice.
“Sarah, I’m warning you calm down, if you get upset you will end up using your powers.” Aspen got out her left hand and used it to make Sarah’s body float in the air, that made Sarah snap out of her anger and her eyes turned back to the original color. Slowly Aspen pulled her back to her chair.
“Are you ok Sarah?” asked Aspen
“What just happened?" Questioned Sarah
“When you get angry, your eyes will change color and you powers will start to come out, Sarah this is why you need to go to the school in Transylvania; so you can learn how to control your powers, please for you sack.”
“I don’t want to leave my mother and father behind.”
"There not you real parents"
“Yes they are, for 18 years the raised me, when I was: sick, hungry, tired or thirsty they were there for me. If that’s not what you call my real parents then I don’t know what are.” Sarah stood up and left the café. She entered her white BMW and instead of leaving she just sat there, for 30 minutes thinking about what Sarah said ‘there not you real parents’ what she said hurt her real bad and it even made her want to kill something but she knew what would happen if she got angry, so she tried to keep calm. sarah sat there thinking and thinking but nothing made any sense. Ring ding dong (Korean song)
Started playing on her phone, she took it out of her pocket and she stared at it ‘mother calling’ it said. ‘What does she want now’ Sarah thought. She clicked the answer button on her phone.
“What do you want” said Sarah, angrily.
“Hay, I don’t know what’s wrong with you but whatever it is, that’s not the way you talk to your mother.” Replied her mother
"What, well I would talk to you like my mother, if you were my mother” Sarah said finishing her conversation. Sarah’s little speech made her mother turn of the phone.
‘Shit, why did I say that’ Then she got a text from her mother ‘Sarah, when you get back we have to talk, I think it’s about time we told you the truth.’
‘What the fuck, always the truth, everyone except me knows the truth’ Thought Sarah, using her fingers to brush back her long brown hair.
