Callie's POV

Yet again, the pounding in my head awoke me in the morning. Whatever was causing these monstrous headaches needed to stop because I was getting quite annoyed with it. Really though, can't a girl get her beauty sleep? I guess not.

Then again, maybe I've gotten a lot of it. I can't remember anything that happened after Harry left me in the kitchen with the devil's prodigy. I figure that I must've just fallen asleep and been so tired that I couldn't recollect the events before that. Indistinct talking caught the attention of my ears. It was definitely the boys and they seemed to be arguing.

"You can't be serious?" said Zayn.

"What other options do we have?" quizzed Harry.

"I'm with Harry on this one," came the voice of Niall.

I was curious as to what they'd been referring to. So, I crawled out of the warm sheets and went out the bedroom door, expecting to see them standing before me. No one was there, just an empty corridor, yet I could still here their banter.

"What? Why?" asked Zayn.

"It makes sense to me," Niall replied.

"But it'll never work!" Louis protested.

I slinked down the hall, trailing the sound of their voices. It brought me to the swinging kitchen doors which were closed. I snuck a short-lived glimpse of the lads all standing round the island in the middle of the kitchen. As I moved myself away from sight, I listened in again.

"What makes you say that?" Harry inquired.

"Maybe because she's your ex?" Louis reasoned.

"Lou has a point, they'll never get along," Liam pointed out.

"Dacey is our only hope, lads. If she can't help, no one can," Harry reminded them.

Dacey? Who's Dacey? All of a sudden I felt something I've never felt before; jealousy. Harry was talking about another girl and all I could do was want to punch something. Normally I'd cry, but lately I've been expressing everything trough anger.

I decided to act like I'd just woken up as I pushed the swinging doors open. Rubbing my eyes, I looked at the five boys who grew silent upon my entrance. They were definitely trying to keep whoever this Dacey chick was a secret from me. Harry seemed to look at me different than the others, like he was watching every single move I made with multiplied intensity that made me feel slightly more self-conscious.

"Are you hungry?" Harry asked, "I can make you something."

"No, not really. I am extremely thirsty, though."

Harry's expression changed to a frightened one for a split second before he retrieved a water bottle from the fridge and threw it to me. I caught the bottle and twisted the cap off, putting the brim of the bottle to my lips and tilting my head back, gulping down the water. As I drank the water with record speed, my hand subconsciously squeezed it till it was a small piece of plastic. The boys looked at me stunned, but Harry seemed to be pondering my actions in his head. It was driving me a little insane.

'Hey hottie, stop acting weird!' I thought, hoping it would get transferred to Harry.

'Hottie you say? Where are you going with this, Callie?' Harry winked at me whilst the others were completely oblivious as to why I was smiling like an idiot.

'Maybe... Maybe not. You'll have to find out.'

'I don't like waiting. I'm a very impatient boy.'

Harry put on a pouty face and I burst out laughing. His frown quickly turned to a smile. The boys all looked at me like I was mentally insane except for Harry.

"Okay... S-"

Just as Niall was about to interrupt the awkwardness the doorbell cut him off. Harry's head whipped round in the direction of the door whilst the others looked at him waiting for him to answer it. When Harry left the room I decided to pretend I was interested in my nails as I listened in on their conversation.

"Harry, long time no see," a feminine voice said.

"Likewise," Harry responded emotionless towards her pitiful pickup line.

"Still looking sexy as always, I see."

"Dacey, I didn't ask you to come so you could try to seduce me, I asked you to come so you could help Callidora."

What the hell? Help me with what? Last time I checked I was perfectly fine other than the fact that I'm the only human in a house full of vampires.

The click-clack of heeled black boots against the marble floor interrupted my train of thought. I looked up to see a blonde with green eyes and a fake smile that really said "I want to kill you". Although, she didn't faze me; I knew she couldn't take Harry from me after what he said to her. The other lads left the room without a word. Geez, no one seems to like this girl. Guess I'm not the first then, but I wouldn't have minded.

"So you're the ugly slut that Harry dumped me for. Pathetic." she spat.

"Now I see why he dumped you," I uttered.

"Yeah, cause he wanted to help a lost puppy."

This angered me to the point of crushing the ceramic mug which contained newly made hot tea with my one hand. Damn, have I been working out?

"Ooh, this is going to be so much fun; I already know how to push your buttons."

"Cut the crap and stop acting like a selfish whore," Harry interjected. "Now, Callie this is Dacey; Dacey this is Callie."

"Pleasure to meet you, meat."

"The pleasures all mine, babe," I replied with a sarcastic smile.

"You two need to learn how to play nice because you'll be spending every day of the week together starting today," Harry added.

"But Harry-"

"No buts, it's final; that's the only way we can help you."

I don't think he intended upon me hearing the words after final, but I heard them anyway. I can't believe I have to spend a weeks worth of my life with this ratchet whore. Maybe I'll at least get to torture her.

Harry's POV

I left the kitchen, leaving the two girls by themselves. The week hadn't even begun and they already hated each other. Honestly, it was a good thing. Callidora would be able to get her emotions out through anger and not rip someones head off when her transition was complete.

The only down side was that we wouldn't be seeing each other for a whilst. Her feelings could change; our special connection through our thoughts could break. So many things could fall apart if Dacey screwed this up. She may be mad at me for breaking up with her, but she's got an eternity to do that. Right now all that mattered was Callidora and her safety.

"Harry," a familiar voice called from behind me.

I turned round to face Callidora, her eyes filled with a pleading look, but I couldn't fall for it. This needed to be done.

"Go b-"

I was cut off by her lips crashing into mine. She snaked her hands around my neck as mine found her waist and pulled her closer. When we pulled apart I realised Dacey watching from the doorway. Did Callidora do that on purpose to make her jealous?

Never mind that, I needn't worry about it. I drug Callidora over to Dacey and they disappeared upstairs. We better make sure to check on them so no one has their head removed from their shoulders...
