It took two minutes. Two minute for the titans to wipe out half of the population of Nuvema Town, a small community outside of wall Unova. There were three walls to keep the titans out. Unova, the outermost wall, Johto, the middle wall, and Hoenn, the innermost wall protecting the King, Ghetsis Harmonia, and his three children, Anthea, Concordia, and Natural. One day, almost one-hundred-fifty years after the walls were built, efficiently keeping out the beasts that roamed outside, something happened. Something terrible.
"Hilda, we're gonna be late!" A brown haired boy called to his twin sister, a piece of toast between his teeth. A girl slightly taller than him practically fell down the stairs. "Whatever Hilbert." Said boy scowled and opened the door. Hilda grabbed an orange before bolting out into the street. Today was like any normal day. The twins walked to school, side by side, chatting about their classes. When they arrived at the large, brick building, they separated. At 1:12, halfway through lunch, people started noticing the rumbling. The lunchroom, normally ready to burst with noise, went silent as the rumbling grew louder. The entire school was blanketed in silence as the rumblings stopped. As the students began talking again, they heard a crash. They all ran outside to see the wall, a gaping hole near the bottom, giant eyes, staring coldly from above. Titans flooded through the broken wall, attacking every human they could find. The school was fairly close to the wall, so everyone panicked. Hilbert grabbed his sister's arm, pulling her roughly outside, hiding in the shadows, to get to their small home. When they arrived at the house, a titan standing 15 meters high, was holding the thatched roof. Hilbert and Hilda watched as the genderless beast tossed the roof their father had worked so hard to build into another house, dust rising into the air. Hilda covered her eyes as the giant lifted their mother into the air by the back of her dress. Her husband noticed the two children and yelled for them to run, get to Wall Johto, escape. Hilbert's feet stuck like glue to the cobbled street. He watched as the titan raised the woman who sang Hilbert lullabies to it's mouth, it's face in an expression of pure joy. The brunette felt a drop of blood hit his face as Hilda ran into the house, their father pleading by now. "Leave! Run!" The titan reached down and pulled Hilda up by the waist. The girl screamed and kicked, tears streaming down her face. The enormous hand suddenly swung into a nearby building. It was then that Hilbert ran. He ran until he couldn't breathe, and then some, until he reached the quickly closing gate. He ran under, almost tripping over the loose dirt beneath the soles of his worn boots. When he got to the other side, there were boats leading people to the inner walls. Hilbert ran until he was safely on the boat. He sat on the floor and heard his mother's screams in his head, his father's warnings. And Hilda, he could see her kicking and yelling to be set free. The thoughts haunted him the whole way to Wall Hoenn.
