The young witch stalked into the forest as if she were a mere breeze. You couldn't see her, nor could you hear her, but you could certainly feel her presence. Twenty yards in front of her, she caught sight of a Minotaur. She licked her fangs and drew twin daggers, her preferred weapon. Her stomach grumbled; she was ever so hungry. With witch hunters now roaming the woods along with the beasts, she had to wait long periods of time before every meal and it drove her insane.

With ease, the witch swiftly ran through the trees approaching the Minotaur. After a quick prayer to the witch goddess to help her give the creature a quick death, she sprang into action. The monster barely had time to fight back before the young witch catapulted herself onto the beast and slit his throat. The monster was dead within seconds. She shed a single tear over his death. "Thank you for your sacrifice."

For that was how it was. Sometimes it was the witches who became food for the creatures, and sometimes it was the beasts who became food for them. It was the circle of life in these parts of the forest; hunt or be hunted.
