Chapter 27

Our trunks had arrived from Hogwarts, and we’d all changed into our normal clothes. I was wearing some jeans and my blue jumper.

I had decided to pull my hair into a plait to keep it out of my face.

Ginny asked me to do the same to her hair. I sat her down on her bed and began to braid her hair.

“So what’s going on with you and Fred?”

I jumped, and little bit shocked by her question. I cleared my throat,

“We’re… friends.”

Ginny turned to look at me,

“Are you? I thought you two were going out.”

I shook my head,

“Well… I’m not sure really.”

She turned away from me again so I could carry on with her hair,

“The way you two act, I would have thought you’d been dating for a while.”

I gulped,

“I’m afraid I don’t really have an answer for that. Anyway-”

“What are you two ladies up to?”

I glanced up to see Fred standing in the doorway. I grinned,

“I’m just finishing off Ginny’s hair. What do you think?”

I laughed, stepping away from Ginny,

“There! All finished!”

She smiled,

“Thanks, Ava! I’ll just go downstairs.”

She gave me a knowing look before leaving the room.

I walked over to Fred and looped my fingers through his,

“It’s good to see you looking so happy. Last night, I was scared of-”

Fred put a finger to my lips,

“Don’t worry. Everything’s okay now.”

I closed my eyes, savouring his touch. Mrs. Weasley shouted from downstairs,

“Fred! Ava! It’s time to leave!”

I opened my eyes, and walked down the stairs with Fred, hand in hand.

Everyone trooped out of the house together with smiles on their faces.

I glanced over at Harry. He didn’t look so cheerful. I wanted to ask what the matter was, but I had a feeling it was something to do with the vision. I didn’t want to pester him.

I nudged Fred,

“I haven’t used muggle transport since before the summer!”

He laughed,

“You don’t technically need muggle transport anymore, do you?”

“I guess not. I always used to get the bus to places, but I guess I don’t need to anymore.”
Fred sighed,
