Walter had been calling out to Dakota for the past five minutes, but she didn't seem to hear him at all. He thought that she was angry at him for something that he did, and he asked his friends to do the same. But she didn't even respond when the others called her name.

Dakota was busy - in fact, busy communicating with Javier. He bent down to talk to her, and she laughed at his silly little jokes that he would crack. Only that he was expressionless throughout, and that made Dakota uncomfortable. She was starting to think that Javier didn't like her, but she continued talking to him. She enjoyed his presence, even desired it.

"Daks, do you know how much I've missed you?" Javier sighed exasperatedly, intertwining Dakota's fingers with his. She could feel her heartstrings pull, because she couldn't feel how much she's missed him, until now.

Javier's pursed lips suddenly turned upwards into a charming smile, extending his right hand. "Daks, are you willing to-"

"Dakota!" Walter shouted in her ears and shook her shoulders, immediately waking her up.

Dakota got taken aback and she frantically looked around her surroundings in confusion. Javier disappeared, yet again. Strange, wasn't he here only a while ago?

"U-Uh, Walter?" She looked at him, her hands trembling.

"Are you alright?" Walter asked, concern etched all over his face. It was evident that something serious happened, seeing that look on his face. He rarely had it; because he always had a playful mask on him. He held her trembling hands in his hands, in an attempt to calm her down. She was grateful for that.

"I'm fine," Dakota insisted and forced her smile, but her words came out almost shaky and inaudible.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Walter. Get on with your pranks."

He went back to his seat when the bell rang, and she couldn't help but notice his longing, concerned gaze at her.

Dakota's mind was in a whirl. She had no idea what on earth she was doing - she had totally no control of her thoughts.

She would haphazardly slip into a trance, and back into consciousness. It was terrifying, and it was as if she was living in two parallel dimensions all at once.

She was doubtful of Javier's existence now - and her sanity. She tried to shake Javier off her thoughts, but every time she tried, her nape would hurt. And the scars would grow deeper into her, to the point that it was threatening to slice her internal organs.

Usually, her attempts were intercepted by Javier. He sweettalked her, and fazed her state of mind, making her mentally weaker by each day. Especially with every 'I miss you' that he said, his eyes was almost as lifelike as how Walter's were when he looked at her.

She didn't know, because her mind keeps telling herself that she loves him. She will never be able to snap out of this daze. The only thing that she knew was that Javier was pining for her, for a long, long, time. She was no better, either.

Now, Dakota was almost having no trouble with falling asleep at all - because there was someone who would accompany her and force her to sleep in order to begin his feast on her innocent soul.

"Good night, Daks. Sweet dreams." his bloody breath tickled her neck as he planted his lips on the scars.
