When I get these crazy couple requests I try to picture a story that could let them be together, but this one is hard to decide on. So...Maria is alive and transported to the future.
Like the Sonic 06 story Maria is captured by Eggman again and again and Sonic saves her same old same old.
Shadow is happy but Maria falls for sonic because Shadow has "changed".
If I honestly saw some sort of story for this couple, which I haven't yet, I would say 7/10.
