I'm currently watching my best friend become best friends with her. I know most people won't consider this a big deal but I've known her forever. She was talking to the top cheerleader . No wonder she wanted to be friends with her . She's beautiful. But it crushes me. This party was slowing down . That's where I was at . Yes? A party.
Mack's party. My "best friend". Today was her 17th birthday and I was happy for her .... until she left me for that ... cheerleader. To be exact this cheerleaders name was Lilian. She was tall with beautiful long red hair and a smile that could kill.
And then there was me. That short brunette. That's all I could've been described as. I wasn't fat, nor was I ugly. I may not have been the prettiest, but I surely wasn't ugly.
There he was. My beautiful distraction.
Senior Jack Nickerson.
Captain of the football team. Of course he's be the one dating Lillian. He had beautiful abs that could make my heart melt in a split second.
A flash pulled me out of my thoughts.
I turned to see Mack and Lilian taking a picture. Smiling. Being happy. I'm not sure what went on inside my mind but I felt angry. Furious as to why was she would do this to me. Maybe it was my over jealous tendencies, but I threw my drink at them.
I ran. I ran out of that place as fast as I possibly could. I couldn't continue with life knowing I just did that. As I was running down the street a car pulled up in front of me. I stopped . It jolted to a stop. Inches away from my body was the car . I could've been hit. I COULD'VE DIED! Thank god I didn't .
"Dakotah!"
I heard the name of a guy, not realizing it had been my own. Yes . I was a girl with the name of a guy. My mom thought it was unique .
"Who-o-o's there ?" I called out shakily.
"Get in the car."
As I saw the door to the car pop open I jumped inside.

Why had I just done that? What's wrong with me tonight ?

"So Dakotah. I know your probably wondering who I am."
I recognized the voice .
Liam Maroon. He was the smartest kid in 12th grade. He was sweet and nice, but I never expected him to be out this late .
"Uh. Yeah you're um.. Liam?"
"Yeah."
I turned to look and saw his sheepish smile. I never noticed this before. The way he smiles and his eyes glimmer when they land on yours. His jawline so sharp it could pierce my skin. He turned to face me . I could feel his eyes burning into my soul. I couldn't help but look away and smile.
"So um what's your address so I can take you home. You looked pretty upset and you've never run from a party before."
"Oh right. Um. 290 Marlon Dr. Thank you."
The entire car ride in couldn't help but smile. This guy just saved my butt from bitter betrayal. I was thankful for this one. This guy...

The entire car ride we caught each other staring a couple times.
Man... Liam was hot.
