The date was September 18, 3800, and all sin had been erased. Heaven was in man's grasp, and Satan was extinguished from the modern society. Nobody lied. Nobody killed. Everyone had lost their desires, almost pure. All of this was when the government finally finished their horrible rule and God himself was the government, the president, the ruler of all mankind.
Sometimes, there were outbursts. People were stuck in the age of extremist equality. Though God made humans unique, they thought people should be equal. "It" was in control, for they were eliminated. Only one outburst was shown to be Satan's resuscitation, and it was the trial of Rose Lane and Sam Tennant.
They were looked down upon in shame, for their type of love was a sin. Man was to love each other, but not to the extent of the revolting husband and wife relationships. And worst of it all, Rose and Sam had a child, touched by the Devil with her luscious red hair. Her eyes were black as the midnight sky , and she had pale glowing skin shining through her narrow frame. Kept in hiding for three years, she had reached the age of twelve.
Though there was a family who loved Rose and Sam, no one would admit the drops of compassion. The drops of compassion was Satan, attempting to reach the core of the thoughts of mankind. They were put to the trial and that was that.
The only drop of compassion shown was of Liz Moreign, who committed the horrifying sin. She watched the television, attempting to find the best news channel. Her long sleeves burnt her arm, but she had to keep them on. If any bit of skin aside from her face were to be shown, she would be stoned in the Lake of Holy Water, left to drift mercilessly. A simple rose laid next to her with a note twirled on the stem and left her pondering on the thought of him, whilst she watched the friend who had been caught in the heart of happiness. The so-called trial started exactly at five. Rose was censored up till her eyes because of the use of the Dark Age's Nike shorts and frivolous use of paint on her face. A priest grabbed a bucket of water and dumped it on her face to remove the art of Satan. Liz's cousin had arrived at this point with disgust coating her face.
"Bless the lord," said Raini.
"Of course," said Liz.
"What type of women would do this?" said Raini.
"The women who understood love?" said Liz in a sarcastic and joking manner, giggling her way though the sentence.
"Jokes are Satanic, Liz! If you were ever to be heard, they would immediately imprison you!" said Raini. "What if someone else was here?"Bless the lord !"
During Raini's long lecture, Liz's mind wandered to her horrible mistake. It pinched, poked, and pricked her till it flew through her skin. The rose's thorns had been removed, but the bumpy impression stayed whilst the notes beautiful words started to fade.Abruptly, her train of thought was captured by the television. Rose and Sam were being questioned by the attorney.
"Why did you give birth to a child?" said the attorney in a booming voice.
"The same reason you wore that pink shirt" Rose said, with a smirk on her face.
"I will ask again. Why did you give birth to a child?" said the attorney with a dash of aggressiveness in his voice.
"The same reason you wore that shirt!" said Rose with more intensity.
"That is it! I shall not tolerate this! Be gone with your Devil's spawn and may your impurity never be forgiven! May the flames of the Underworld devour your soul and push the pieces back together till you wish you never fell into the Devil's trap and feel the pain of----"
"Of my beautiful thought. We all know how you feel ,Miss Watson." Rose said in a flirtatious tone, giving a repeated eyebrow raise.
"Send her off!" said the attorney.
" SIx! Six! Six!" said Rose sarcastically.Liz glared in astonishment as she watched the television. How long would they punish her? What type of treatment facility would they send her to? The possibilities were endless. The verdict was to be announced at seven.
Time danced away and the sun had skipped off by seven. Raini plopped herself on the couch and switched on the television.
"Attention! Rose and Sam's fate has been decided. It shall be to the highest degree a combination of punishment 7Z and 7A."
"Serves that no good right! Bless the lord," said Raini. Liz's honesty chip buzzed. Over the years, she learned to adjust to it, but she wanted to let the idea of him out. The news continued till the curfew. The angels set them to sleep for the morning of their death. The morning light of the halo enlightened them until Liz remembered her friend's fate. The house angel gave her the daily dose required by everyone in her community. Identifying the sympathy for Satanic acts, the angel gave her twice as much emotional control pills. Liz turned on the television, the one piece of technology that was not of the Devil.
"What is on the news?" Raini said.
"Trial," said Liz.
"I can not believe she dared to have a child or love the other gender in such a way." Raini said.
"Yeah." said Liz, while her lie controls faltered.
"Bless the lord," said Raini. The hanging of Rose and Sam had begun. Rose's blonde hair covered her chocolate eyes, and her playful smile was washed out by a simple frown.Sam clutched her hand and the adolescent was led to the base by the executioner.
Sam was the first to go. Liz watched, and her eyes shimmered from the tears she tried to hold in, wrapping her blue eyes like contacts. Rose screamed, rage and anguish covering her face. Finally, they reached for the girl. At this point, Liz left to freshen up in the powder room. They held the girl on to the wall and the executioner checked the darts. Holy incantations were recited and it begun. First, daggers were stabbed to her clothes, holding her there. Then, a last breath was taken by the pale figure in lime. The television blacked out. Raini turned to comment, but Liz was still in the room.
Five minutes later, Liz came back and paused, debating whether to admit or stand low. She finally pulled her tears back into her eyes and her and Raini conversed. Liz saw a frown on Raini's face and asked,"Did it disturb you?"
"A little," Raini said.
"Why?" Liz asked.
" It is all just Satan trying to crack me open,"
"Forget items of Satan. They do not deserve thought," said Liz.
"Why would I not?" said Raini.
"Good girl," said Liz. She had forgotten her romantic night with Dean and the pills took control. The note and the rose were locked up in her mind, and the key was never to be found. For a second, she paused, in attempt to save the memories, but it was too late.
"Bless the lord," said Raini.
"Once more," said Liz.
"Bless the lord," said Raini. The moment the drop of water fell on her crimson cheek, the house angel flew in front of her. A gas came out, almost invisible except for a gray wave. Liz was sprawled on the floor with the note clutched to her heart. It said," I love you. Not as another creation of God, but of the love we call sin. Roses were once adorned amongst the hearts of young love, but the thorns of desire stabbed us. Now, we protect with an armor, but it blinds us from the beauty, the beauty of the rose."
Raini came back and found the note laying there. A mix of rage and depression stuck to her face. Miss Watson approached her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Do you mourn for her?" she said to Raini.
"Yes," she said.
"Why?" Miss Watson said.
"I do not know," she said. " I never expected her to have a lover."
"Why?" Miss Watson asked once more.
"It was not part of who she was. She knew right from wrong," Raini said.
"But there was no control. Why even care?"
"I feel sympathy for her." said Raini.
"She does not deserve it. She has sinned," said Miss Watson.
"You are right." said Raini.
"Good girl."
"May she rot in the depths of the Underworld and let the flames covet her soul for eternity. And as they coat the rest of her body, may the man she had been loved by watch her forever and forever, as the flames finally devour her at the end of time," said Raini.
"And she shall," said Miss Watson.
