okay, so I have been busy for a long time with marching band and school starting so i thought i'd post a quicky. its not done but i promise to be sooner with these. ))

It's been two weeks since the whole 'John Incident' and not a single word from John at all. Karkat got over the incident pretty quickly and was now watching a RomCom, snuggled into Dave's side comfortably. Dave, however, wasn't over it. He fought not to cry himself to sleep some nights, because, if Karkat heard or found out, it would just make Karkat feel as though it was his fault. It felt as if Dave was slowly but surely falling into insanity. At least, that's what it feels like. Falling. He's falling into an endless hole wrapped in darkness and contained emotions. Coated in his stoic mask to keep it concealed. New and old. He had been fine with holding back emotions all his life. In more ways than one. That is...until John. Yes, John was the one bring Dave out of his cold stoic shell and his true self to become uncovered. Not Mr.Stoic-Cool-Kid. Now his first true best friend and life line was the one to betray him.

"Whoa...Dave?" Karkat's voice ripped Dave from his thoughts. He looked over at Karkat with his still shaded eyes. "What?" He hummed. "Dave, you're shaking. Like really bad. Are you cold?" Dave looked down at his hands and sure enough, he was shaking. "Huh...look at that I am. That's weird." Dave said dumbly. "I'll just go take a shower to warm up and go to bed. Come join me when you're ready." Dave mumbled. He quickly hulled himself from the couch into a standing position. He quickly made his way to the bathroom. "Dave." Karkat called. Dave spun on his heel to face his boyfriend. "Yeah, Nubs?" Karkat stared at Dave for a minute. "...Never mind." Dave raised an eyebrow at the troll. Karkat seemed to go back to his movie so Dave continued his way to the bathroom. He quietly shut the door and locked it. He stripped out of his favorite record shirt and his denim jeans. When he was fully undressed he slipped off his shades. He flinched when he saw the bright red orbs. Karkat didn't know his eyes. Nobody knew....except John. 'Fucking Hell....John, why did you do this to me?!?' He mentally screamed. Dave glanced at his wrists. Memories and pain filled his mind. Though they are hardly visible anymore, just faint trails of pale skin. Karkat didn't know....but John did.

Dave angrily flipped on the shower to scalding hot. He stepped in letting the water slightly burn his worries away. He pressed his forehead to the shower wall screwing his eyes shut in grimace. 'This is torture...the only person I've ever fully trusted...screwed me over into the deep end.' Dave thought bitterly. He glanced at his wrists pondering something. He quickly shook his head. 'Karkat would notice...plus....you promised to.....to John....' Dave let an involuntary sob. He slapped a hand over his mouth, biting his knuckles. He hopped Karkat didn't hear. But, as fate should have it, a knock at the door made his heart sink. "Dave?" Karkat's voice was muffled through the door and water, but Dave heard. "Yeah N-Nubs?" Damn! He stuttered. "Dave...please tell me you're....you're not...hurting yourself. Are you?" Karkat's voice sounded desperate and scared. "...No....no I'm not Nubs. Cr-cross my heart." Dave stuttered. ".....Dave please tell me...what's wrong?" Karkat whimpered. Dave was silent for a moment. Should he tell him? ....yeah. "I...I'll tell you when I get out, okay?" Dave sighed. Karkat was silent for a moment before responding. "O-okay...."

After Dave got out of the shower, he wrapped a towel around his waist and went to the bedroom to change. He put on a white long sleeved shirt and bright red pajama bottoms. He found Karkat on the couch but, the T.V. was off. "Hey I'm out, Nubs. Do you want to go to the bedroom and talk?" Dave asked leaning on the wall that lead to the hallway. Karkat looked up at Dave. His gaze flicking to his wrists and back to his still shaded eyes. Dave shook his head walking over to Karkat pulling him up and leading him to the bedroom. He plopped down onto the soft, King sized bed, tugging Karkat with him. As soon as they were settled, Karkat looked at Dave expectantly.

Dave sighed. "Okay...remember that run in with John a couple weeks back?" Karkat tensed. "Well....I..I mean.....damn it! I can't say this! It's going to sound like my problems are worse!" Dave growled at himself, clenching his fist. Karkat laid a hand onto Dave's clenched fists. "I won't think that Dave. Go on." Karkat soothed. Dave took a deep breath. "Alright...you...you know how I- I've known John since first grade, right?" Karkat nodded. "Well, he and I have been through A LOT together. I know his deepest secrets that not even his dad knows and likewise." Dave whispered but, it was loud enough for Karkat to hear. Karkat hummed, letting Dave know he was still listening. "After the whole....John incident..... I felt so...betrayed. I told him I loved you so much and basically gave him every clue to back off when we started dating, but h-he s-still. The first time I've cried in a long time was when you left me with John. I'm so glad you did because I was a wreck. He didn't even say anything. I punched him once. I hurt my best friend. He was the first one I truly trusted. Karkat....he, on that day, said NOTHING to me. He didn't care he betrayed me. He didn't care I was hurt. H-he didn't care th-that he went behind my back....he didn't c-c-care th-that I was heartbroken!" Dave was sobbing into Karkat's shirt as Karkat stared with shock. Dave had been keeping all this in and Karkat hadn't even noticed the slightest change in his matesprite.

"H-he was th-th-the only one wh-who knew! h-h-how could he jus-" Dave broke off clinging to Karkat desperetly.

Im sorry it such a teaser....wait...im not))
