"Let the torture begin."

Those four words literally were the beginning of torture. I'd only been with them for maybe two hours and Tatia had tricked me several times into lashing out. Each time I reacted she would inflict some sort of pain, mostly brain aneurisms, though. All the turning and temporarily paralysing pain Tatia was causing were making me tired. However, she refused to stop.

"Don't I need to feed at some point before I actually do die?" I asked.

"How long have you been in transition?"

"Four days and I'm starving. The beat of your heart and smell of blood is driving me crazy."

"But you're controlling the impulses, good." She turned to Dacey who was, no doubt, enjoying the suffering I was going through. "Go to the hospitals blood supply in their basement and bring back five bags."

Dacey nodded, flashing me a devilish smirk and tauntingly wiggling her fingers at me in a wave before vanishing quick as light. After she was gone for a whilst I started to get a bit sad.

"Something wrong, regis?"

"The vampire Eliodoro has a mannequin of me with a wedding veil. Upon his return we're supposed to get married, but I do not wish to marry him; he frightens me. I don't know how to stop it from happening, though."

"Oh, poor Callidora. You mustn't dawdle over such insignificant tricksters."

"Insignificant? I'll be with that devil for an eternity!"

"Nonsense! No one has told you?"

"Told me what?"

"As being the filia luna and lamia regis - daughter of the moon and vampire princess - your destiny has already been chosen by the great and powerful witch Lilura."

"What does that mean exactly? Is Lilura still living?"

"Yes, and Eliodoro is not your destiny and you shan't worry about it."

"So... Who is my destiny?"

"That I cannot say. The most I can say is that you two have met at least once."

"That could be anyone!"

"Who could be anyone?" the voice of Dacey interjected.

She threw a handful of blood bags at me. I caught them and let my vampirism take it from there, draining each bag completely. Suddenly I felt more alive and prepared for anything that came my way. I felt stronger.

"Alright, we're losing daylight sitting here dilly dallying. Let's get back to work," ordered Tatia.

The witch threw a cross bow to Dacey who caught it and placed a piece of wood between the elastic-like string and front of the bow. My body seemed to freeze. I was petrified. Dacey was going to shoot me with a wooden stake.

"Now the key is to keep your eye on the stake and not let it come in contact with your insides."

Dacey smiled and pulled the string back. She closed one eye and focused on her target, me, with the other. As she let go of the string my hand went out and caught the stake in the air. Applause of approval came from Tatia whereas Dacey just grimaced and rolled her eyes. She wanted to hit me. We continued working on this for a whilst.

"The next thing we're going to work on is your senses and reflexes," Tatia explained, "Dacey has a stake with her and she's going to come at you with it from different angles and at different speeds. Be prepared."

After about five or six of those I was pretty confident in my abilities to fend off any form of attempted murder of a vampire. Just as I breathed in, a sharp pain shot through my stomach as a wooden stake plunged through my back.

"Gotcha."

"Dammit," I cursed out of pain and anger. She'd staked me.

"The good part about this is that she's not permitted to actually kill you or hurt you worse than what your body can handle. However, a person trying to kill a vampire won't think twice. Now, come along, there's still much more to do."

Harry's POV

When I got back to the house it was already dark outside. Tatia had said to stay out as long as possible, therefore we came back slightly after nightfall. The whole time I couldn't get my mind off of Callidora and if she was doing alright. I trusted Tatia enough to know she wouldn't permanently harm her, but that didn't help me much. Now that I was home, I was dying to see her.

I entered the kitchen, knowing she would be in there. She stood in the opening of the fridge looking at the selection of foods. I snuck up on her and wrapped my arms round her from behind. The door to the refrigerator was shut quickly at my presence.

"How was training?"

She responded by prying my hands from her body and walking to the island in the middle of the kitchen.

"What's wrong, Callie?"

She continued to ignore me and proceed to open a package of bread that she'd retrieved from the fridge. I placed my hand on hers, halting any further actions. Unexpectedly, she turned round to face me with a knife in her hand which she skilfully placed at the location of my heart.

"Do not touch me," she hissed through gritted teeth.

I put my hands up in the air in surrender. What was wrong with her?

"Did I do something wrong?"

"Why do you even care?" she snapped back.

"Because I lo-" I started to say, but was soon cut off.

"Do not say that you love me. You don't love me and you never have. The other night when Dacey said you were one of my minions, it was true. Because of this stupid curse all male vampires are in love with me. So, no, you don't love me. Just save your breath."

Callidora stomped out of the kitchen leaving me in a daze, kind of like a deer in headlights. What just happened? There may be a curse and all, but I do love her. I know I do.

Just then the other lads came rushing into the kitchen, probably after seeing Callidora angrily trudging up the steps to her room.

"What was that all about?" Niall asked.

"She thinks that I don't love her."
