Chapter 3
[Atlas' P.O.V]
After leading Rolan through the dense underbrush by the hand for some time, the scents of the pack grew thicker and thicker. Atlas bit his lip, turning his eyes to the other, smiling sheepishly.
'Stick close okay? No one will bother us."
He failed to mention the fact he was the Alpha pairs youngest, hopefully the kid wouldn't freak when he found out. At that thought Atlas squared his shoulders, and lifted his chin, dragging the other through the final stand of trees before his feet hit pavement.
A few lazy cars drove by, coughing out plumes of exhaust. The whole little city of Sidnie was theirs. Some distant family members had crossed the great waters from Spain with Christopher Columbus and had purposefully faked their deaths, knowing they couldn't return back to Spain due to a war that was happening between the packs at the time over territories. Ten pack members fled the ship and disappeared from records and books, thought to have drowned. Of course the real story was they transformed and ran until they found peace. They had settled eventually in what Europeans later called the New World. The first pack on North America's soil. They were embraced by the natives and lived as they did.
Atlas smiled slightly at that thought, the world would be a better place if they still lived like natives. He slowed as they neared a rather large house that was planted at the end of a small one-way road that snaked through green, lush, waist high fields of grass and patches of trees at the edges of the property. He heard Rolan gasp slightly as they turned down the private road, a pair of white tailed deer crossed their path, one stopping and looking right at them before leaping after its mate.
"Welcome to My Home."
He said as the other took in their surroundings in awe.
"We should be just in time for lunch. I'm sure mom will take a liking to you."
Atlas continued, ignoring the boys silent wonder of his home. He was used to this. Catching movement out of the corner of his eye he saw two rather large wolves. A smirk appeared on his face as his eyes took in Corbin and Mika's forms. The former glared at him in silence, before flicking his gaze to the visitor.
"Come on, we better go."
Atlas said, pulling the other along faster as they neared the house. The rush was brought on by Corbins' body language. He had to of realized this was the intruder. Rolan let out a small gasp from behind him as Atlas tugged him towards the house, now sprinting as the silvery form that was Corbin came hurtling in their direction. It didn't take a genius to realize what was going through his mind then.
Bounding up the steps he shoved the door open just as Corbins form crashed into his new friend, sending them all through the front door. He landed with a sickening slap of skin on waxed tile, the sound of Corbins' snarls filling his ears as he pushed himself up and turned, yanking the fighter from Rolan, who screamed and beat at the angry fighter, trying to save his own life. Struggling against Corbin, holding onto his tail and yanking back he drug him slightly further away from the cowering kid, a few splashes of blood from Rolans' nose painting the white room with red splatters. Atlas gritted his teeth when Corbin turned and snapped onto his hand, causing him to wince slightly, holding back a cry of pain as his bones snapped beneath the hold.
"ENOUGH!"
The voice made them all stop, the world froze as Corbin yanked away from his hand and staggered to his feet, tipping his head in respect to The Voice. It was a voice that had all three of them cowering slightly, though Atlas soon fought off the Alpha influence and threw himself at his mother.
"Mom! Corbins trying to kill my guest!"
[ Corbin P.O.V]
Corbin snarled slightly as his eyes focused on the feet of the alphaess, keeping his head tipped in respect. He took a side glance at the intruder, his heart colliding with his chest as he took in the scent of the blood and the boys horrid appearance. For a minute he felt guilt.
"Corbin! you know we treat our uests with respect."
Salena's voice was a soft caress that calmed him instantly. With a shudder his fur melted off, fizzling as it hit the floor and with-in seconds he was human once more. He raked a frustrated hand through his platinum blonde hair.
"He was the intruder though Ma'am, I was still... irritated about losing him, so when his scent hit me my wolf kind of took over..."
He shuffled his foot his eyes focused on the floor as he admitted this weakness. When he felt a soft hand on his shoulder he looked up, meeting the Alpha females eyes- the same warm playful eyes that Atlas had. He felt himself relax slightly as she spoke to him gently.
"Well, now that he is here with Atlas, he isn't really considered a threat now is he."
She smiled at Corbin reassuringly, pardoning him for his behavior. Corbin smiled slightly, turning his eyes to Rolan, who nursed his bleeding nose, waitin for the flow to stop completely. He cleared his throat, suddenly feeling it close up as he took in his appearance. The shaggy, messy black hair, the gaunt and lanky frame, pale skin, with red splatters of blood dabbing his face. And the large, fearful silver eyes that seemed to flit every where around the room but him.
"lo-ok..."
His voice cracked slightly, skin feeling clammy as those silver eyes landed on his, making his heart go into over drive. He didn't know what the hell was going on. He felt like he was going to puke, or pass out. He licked his lips, watching as the boys eyes traced the scar that ran from his forhead, down his eyelid and ended near his lip on the left side of his face.
"Sorry for uhm- trying to hurt you."
He held out a hand and tried to smile reassuringly as the eyes flashed with distrust.
[Rolan's P.O.V]
Rolan found himself in a situation he really didn't want to be in. With the fearsome fighters attention now on him, he wanted to run. He felt the terror claw at his throat, his hand still on his nose, though it was pretty much done bleeding now. His eyes snapped onto the other as he spoke, drawing him in. He sucked in a sharp breath, goose bumps rose on his legs and arms, and a small shudder ran through his body. the scar that marred the others face caught his eye, making him blanch slightly. He wondered how the other got it. When the hand was thrust out to him his eyes landed on it and he grimaced, his eyes narrowing as he met the others smug face. How dare he chase him down like a cat with a mouse, then attack him, and now try to play nice? Before Rolan realized what exactly was happening his hand cocked back and he felt the satisfying sting of flesh against his palm as he smacked the other. Fire burnt up his arm at the hit, making him suck in a sharp breath before dots swarmed his vision and he hit the ground with a loud thunk.
