Khalil POV
I smile as Brice laughs at the corny story I told her about of how my voice used to be so high and I sung like a mouse to my mother on her birthday when I was younger."Y-you look like a fetus." She laughs and I chuckle as she gives me back an old picture of me in oversized pants and a snap back.
"Hey in my defense..my style was in."
"In what year, 2000 never!" She laughs again.
"Oh yea..what were you like back then?" I challenge.
Her laughter dies and she looks down,"Um..well my dad was a senator before he was elected president and before that..he was a mayor of my home state of California. I was always the quiet, reserved and pleasant Brice who could never step out of line."
"And what are you now?" I whisper as I grab her hand.
"I-I dont know...but I wanna be better." She looks up at me and sends a small smile my way.
Our "moment" was interrupted when Brice's doctor walked in.
"Ah I see you're still here." He says
"Whats up Doc." I nod.
"Hello Khalil. So Brice..you'll be able to leave in a couple of days but I spoke to the Queen whom I understand to be your current guardian. We have come to an agreement that you should do a month of rehab." He explains looking up from his clipboard.
I look over at Brice and she's looking down at her lap.
I grab her hand,"You wanna be better?"
She nods still looking down.
"Then Ill be with you every step of the way."
She looks up and smiles.
.
.
.
I look between the red velvet and the chocolate slices."Hard choice to make."
I look over at her.
"You know..its rude to kiss someone and not know their name." She smirks as I just try to figure out what to say.
She chuckles,"Melissa"
"Khalil" I nod
"Uh...go with red velvet." She smiles and I look at the cakes before reaching for it.
I place it on the tray full of fries, two burgers and sprite as I walk towards the cashier and pay for them.
"Have you gone home at all?" She asks
"I cant just leave her." I shrug
"I didnt know that you were so dedicated to your job." She says as I walk towards Brice's room.
"Yea well I-"
"Its kinda hot."
I stop in my tracks and look at her as I clear my throat.
"T-thanks." I stutter.
The fuck you stuttering for Khalil?
She steps closer to me and leans up on her tippy toes as she pulls me a bit closer; the tray being the only thing creating any space between us.
"I should get back to work." She whispers seductively before swaying her hips as she walks off.
My pants feel super tight right now. I lower the tray in front of my area as I enter the room.
Brice smiles as I walk in and I give her a nervous glance as I place the food on her table.
"Whats wrong with you?" She asks chuckling.
I hand her a burger and sprite as we split the fries.
"N-nothing."
She looks me up and down before her eyes stop at the area.
"Aww..did Khalil get excited."
I blush, "y-yea..what can I say..these old ladies in hospital gowns turn me on..go Prunes!" I fist bump in the air and she looks at me like im crazy before shrugging it off.
"Oh yas red velvet!"
"Aye now..I hope you know we're sharing." I smirk
"Who is the one in the ugly ass gown?" She crosses her arms
"Damn..playing that card. Thats cold." I shake my head as she laughs.
Just a filler.
