Author's note: This is my new version of the book The mediator by Meg Cabot, pleas leave the comment below on how you like the story and if I should go on with it.

I came back from school extremely devasted, you see I hate my school, nobody likes me there, well except for my computer geek best friend Kyle. My family tells me that it’s because they’re jealous of what I’m and what I have, but I doubt that, it’s because I’m weird. As I already told you, I’m not a typical teenage girl, I always get into trouble because of ghosts, they’re always up in my ass, and then sometimes I have to break into private properties and I normally get caught by the police and it goes to TMZ and the whole media. Well I can say that goes to my school too, they read the paper! People know that I always get caught by the police, some of them even think I’m part of some gang or something so I guess the good thing is, nobody pisses me off, they just normally leave me alone and I guess it’s better than being the one they make fun of. But there is one exception, there always is: Kristen. Well you see she’s the one who sings, dances, acts, does theater classes together with ballet, she’s the perfect little girl. Why does she pick on me? This one I do believe it’s because of jealously, because I’m already famous and everything.

She can be all those things but she is not smart, you know, instead of trying to be friends with me to get what she wants, she does the whole other way around: she makes fun of me at every opportunity she has to humiliate me. Today she got a little far, right now I was crying from the anger I was holding the whole day long, I wasn’t gonna cry in front of them, in the cafeteria, she manage to make me drop my whole food on my clothes, I was pissed, because I couldn’t have been more humiliated than that, and seriously, it was Prada! Everybody laughed at me and I didn’t really know what to do. Right now, I was back home, in my room, alone.

Of course, I’m always alone, unless there’s a supernatural presence somewhere around me. The reason why I’m always alone is because my mom is never home, she’s always working, I barely see her at all. After I finished my shower I went out of the bathroom and something just scared the hell out of me.

‘Are they still picking on you on school?’

‘Dad, it’s ok! And I told you not to show up like that again’ Yeah, that’s my dad, the famous rapper Jay-Z, he always shows up out of nowhere! Just because he has supernatural powers from the dead doesn’t mean he can’t respect my privacy.

‘I told you, talk to you mother, she change your school’ He said ignoring me completely.

‘I told you mom is never home, she won’t listen’ He wasn’t very happy about what I said, every time I mention mom he gets upset and normally leaves. He blames himself for her not being here and, even though I never told him, I agree. Ever since he died she has been acting this way.

I remember that day perfectly, I was about 5, I went to school, came back, had lunch with my family and then my dad left because he had a concert, I wasn’t able to go because I was too young and all but my mom did go. All I know is that she was the only one who came back, my dad was shot on the concert by a crazy fan and the doctors weren’t able to save him. Since then I haven’t seen my mom the same way I used to see her, it’s like she doesn’t even care for me.

‘You know that ain’t true, you can talk to her’ I just nodded, even though I didn’t agree he insist on telling me about my mother, I guess he does know better about her than me, the only thing he doesn’t know is that she changed, a lot, since he has been gone.

‘Dad, can I ask you something?’

‘Sure’

‘What is keeping you here?’
